A charge labeled “WOAT ABC Club” on your bank or credit card statement is a Workout Anytime gym membership fee, processed by ABC Fitness Solutions, the third-party billing company that handles payments for the gym. “WOAT” is shorthand for Workout Anytime, and “ABC” is the processor whose name shows up on the statement instead of the gym’s. If you want it to stop, you’ll need to cancel through Workout Anytime directly; ABC Fitness only processes what the gym tells it to.
Why the Charge Shows Up Under a Name You Don’t Recognize
Workout Anytime uses ABC Fitness Solutions as its billing and club-management partner. ABC’s software tracks member profiles, processes payments, books classes, and manages billing across locations.1ABC Fitness. Workout Anytime Expands Relationship With ABC Fitness Solutions Through Deployment of ABC Ignite When the debit hits your account, the descriptor reflects some variation of “ABC” rather than the specific gym. So “WOAT ABC Club” decodes to a Workout Anytime membership fee billed by ABC Fitness.
If you don’t remember joining and don’t recognize the amount, the charge may belong to someone else on the account, or to a membership from a location you signed up at months ago. ABC Fitness customer support (888-827-9262 or customercare@abcfitness.com) can look up which gym is billing you, even though they can’t cancel it.2ABC Fitness. Gym Member Contact
What the Amount Should Look Like
Workout Anytime rates vary by location and plan because clubs are franchised. One franchise location publishes these representative figures:
- Premium Term plan: $17.99 bi-weekly, with $37.99 due at sign-up.
- Basic Term plan: $12.99 bi-weekly, with $32.99 due at sign-up.
- Annual fee: $49.99, charged 45 days after the join date on both term and month-to-month plans.3Workout Anytime. Workout Anytime Marion
That $49.99 annual charge, sometimes called an “annual enhancement fee” or “rate guarantee fee,” is a frequent source of surprise. It hits on a different schedule than your regular dues, so it can look like a stray or duplicate charge when it isn’t.
Canceling a Workout Anytime Membership
Workout Anytime directs members to cancel through its mobile app. Open the Account page, select “Membership,” and choose “Cancel Membership” from the menu. The app displays any amount owed to complete the cancellation and asks for a reason. Once you submit, you get a confirmation and a note on how long your access continues.4Workout Anytime. A few things to watch for. The app may show a cancellation fee or outstanding balance that has to be paid before cancellation takes effect; the exact figure depends on your contract. Don’t try to cancel through ABC Fitness. ABC only processes payments the gym tells it to process, and its own internal documentation confirms that even after a membership is flagged for cancellation in the system, any active recurring services left running will keep generating charges until someone deactivates them manually.6ABC Fitness. Disputing the Charge With Your Bank or Card Issuer
Under the Fair Credit Billing Act, you can dispute billing errors, including charges for services you canceled or didn’t authorize, by sending a written notice to your card issuer at the address designated for billing inquiries. The notice has to reach the issuer within 60 days of the statement date that first showed the disputed charge.9Federal Trade Commission. Using Credit Cards and Disputing Charges
Once the issuer receives your dispute, it must acknowledge it in writing within 30 days and resolve it within two billing cycles, not to exceed 90 days. While it investigates, you don’t have to pay the disputed amount, and the issuer can’t report it as delinquent to credit bureaus.10Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
