Where to Find Your eBay 1099-K: Seller Hub, My eBay, and IRS

Your eBay 1099-K is available inside your eBay account, posted electronically by January 31 of the year after your sales. You can download it from Seller Hub or from the Payments area of My eBay, switch to paper delivery if you want a mailed copy, or pull the same reported figures from the IRS through a Wage and Income Transcript if you can’t get into your account.

Download It From Seller Hub

Seller Hub is where most active sellers will find the form fastest. If you meet the reporting threshold, eBay places an electronic copy directly in your account.1eBay. eBay and Form 1099-K

  • Open the Payments tab in Seller Hub.
  • Select Taxes from the left-hand menu.
  • Select 1099-K details.
  • Select Generate.

The detailed report itemizes every transaction that feeds into your 1099-K total, which makes it easier to reconcile against your own records. Electronic copies stay available for several years, so a prior-year form is still there if you need it later.

Download It From My eBay

If you use the standard My eBay interface rather than Seller Hub, the path is slightly different:1eBay. eBay and Form 1099-K

  • Go to Payments in My eBay.
  • Scroll to Payment reports and taxes.
  • Select Form 1099-K.
  • Select Request 1099-K detailed report.

Both routes pull from the same underlying data, so you’ll see identical figures whichever one you use.

Request a Paper Copy by Mail

If you want a physical form instead of a download, turn off Electronic delivery on the Taxes page inside your eBay account.1eBay. eBay and Form 1099-K With that setting disabled, eBay must send the paper form by January 31 of the following year.2Internal Revenue Service. Understanding Your Form 1099-K

The form ships to the mailing address on file, so it’s worth checking that address in early January. If the toggle isn’t cooperating or the form doesn’t arrive, contact eBay customer support and ask them to mail a copy directly.

Get the Same Data From the IRS

Locked out of eBay, or never received a form you were expecting? The IRS already has a copy. eBay files the 1099-K with the IRS at the same time it posts one to your account, so the reported figures are sitting in the IRS system. Request a Wage and Income Transcript to see them; the transcript lists what was reported on all your 1099-series forms for the tax year.3Internal Revenue Service. Topic No. 159, How to Get a Wage and Income Transcript

Two ways to request it:

One timing note: Wage and Income Transcripts typically aren’t available until late spring, because the IRS needs time to process the information returns it receives in January and February. If you’re filing early, you may need to wait or work from your own records.

Should You Expect a 1099-K at All?

Before hunting further, check whether eBay was required to issue one. The federal rule is that eBay must send you a 1099-K only when your account clears both of two limits in the same calendar year: more than $20,000 in gross payments and more than 200 transactions.4Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 26 USC 6050W – Returns Relating to Payments Made in Settlement of Payment Card and Third Party Network Transactions Both conditions must be met. Falling short on either one means no form.

The One, Big, Beautiful Bill, signed in 2025, retroactively restored that $20,000-and-200 standard as if the lower $600 threshold from the American Rescue Plan Act had never taken effect.5Internal Revenue Service. A handful of states set their own reporting thresholds lower than the federal one, some as low as $600 with no transaction-count requirement. If you live in one of those states, eBay may issue a 1099-K even when your sales are well under the federal limits. Check with your state tax department if you’re unsure.

Whether or not you get a form, income from your eBay sales that is taxable still has to be reported on your return.

What the Number on the Form Means

Box 1a is a gross figure. It shows the total payments eBay processed during the calendar year, based on when eBay processed the funds rather than when the money landed with you. It does not subtract eBay seller fees, refunds, credits, discounts, sales tax, or canceled transactions.1eBay. eBay and Form 1099-K

That number will almost always be larger than your actual profit. Cost of goods, shipping supplies, and other expenses come off on your tax return, not on the 1099-K. Keep receipts for anything you spent on your selling activity so you’re not taxed on money you never really kept.

If Something on the Form Is Wrong

Contact eBay if the dollar amount, taxpayer identification number, or other information on your 1099-K is incorrect. Have your item numbers and transaction details ready. eBay asks that you raise concerns by March 30, which leaves time to issue a corrected form before the April 15 filing deadline.1eBay. eBay and Form 1099-K

If eBay won’t correct the form, the IRS offers a workaround on your return. Report the incorrect amount as other income on Schedule 1 (Form 1040), Part I, Line 8z, then enter a matching adjustment on Part II, Line 24z. The two entries cancel out, so the erroneous figure doesn’t inflate your adjusted gross income.6Internal Revenue Service.
