When Will I Get My AT&T Settlement Payment?

There is no set date for the AT&T settlement payment. As of the most recent update from the settlement administrator in April 2026, Judge Ada E. Brown in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas has not granted final approval of the $177 million deal, and no money can go out until she does, the appeal window closes, and every claim form is reviewed. The official settlement site says plainly, “We do not know how long it will take for the Court to make its decision.”1Telecom Data Settlement. Telecom Data Settlement Website

Three Things That Have to Happen First

The final approval hearing was held on January 15, 2026. More than four months later, the court still has not ruled. Before Kroll Settlement Administration can send anyone a payment, three steps have to clear:

  • Judge Brown must grant final approval of the settlement.
  • The appeal window has to run out with no challenge filed, or any appeal has to be resolved. AT&T, objectors, or other parties could file one.
  • Kroll has to finish reviewing every claim submitted before the December 18, 2025 deadline. New claims are no longer being accepted.1Telecom Data Settlement. Telecom Data Settlement Website

If an appeal is filed, the wait could stretch months or longer. Time reported that appeals from AT&T or other parties “would likely delay the payment process.”2Time. AT&T Data Breach Settlement: How to File a Claim

How to Check for Updates

The settlement website at www.telecomdatasettlement.com is the primary place to watch. Kroll has said it will post updates there as things develop, and it will announce when payments are being sent. There is no individual claim-status portal, so you cannot log in and track your specific claim.3Telecom Data Settlement. Frequently Asked Questions

How Much the Payment Will Be

The fund totals $177 million, split into $149 million for the March 2024 breach and $28 million for the July 2024 breach.4KOAT. AT&T Data Breach Settlement: How to Claim Money The ceilings depend on which incident affected you:

  • March 2024 breach only: up to $5,000 for documented losses, or a tiered flat payment. Tier 1 claimants (Social Security number exposed) receive five times what Tier 2 claimants (other data exposed but not SSN) receive.5Clarion Ledger. How Much Money Can You Get From the AT&T Settlement
  • July 2024 breach only: up to $2,500 for documented losses, or a pro rata share of the remaining fund for those who filed without documentation.
  • Both breaches: up to $7,500 combined, with separate supporting documents required for each claim.6Commercial Appeal. AT&T Data Breach Settlement New Deadline

Those numbers are ceilings, not guarantees. Actual payments will be smaller once attorney fees, administration costs, and service awards come out of the fund. Plaintiffs’ lawyers indicated they would seek up to one-third of each settlement fund in fees, and the named plaintiffs would seek $1,500 each as service awards. The court has not yet ruled on those requests.7U.S. District Court, Northern District of Texas. A separate, older class action at attmsettlement.com covers taxes AT&T Mobility improperly charged on mobile data services between November 2005 and September 2010.
