When the Forms Go Out
The mailing window runs roughly three weeks, from the first week of January through the fourth. Because the SSA generates millions of statements at once, the exact day yours lands depends on local mail processing and how far you live from the distribution center that produced it. The January 31 target is a delivery goal for all recipients who received Social Security payments during the prior calendar year.
Arrival dates in the first half of February are normal. If your form hasn’t shown up by mid-February, the cause is almost always postal transit rather than a problem at the SSA.
