When Are CPP and OAS Tax Slips Mailed or Available Online?

Service Canada mails T4A(P) and T4A(OAS) tax slips by the last day of February following the tax year they cover, so most recipients see them arrive by mid-March. You can usually get them a little sooner by downloading the PDF from your My Service Canada Account as soon as it’s posted. For the 2025 tax year, slips must be in the mail by the end of February 2026, and your return is due April 30, 2026.

When the Paper Slips Go Out

The Canada Revenue Agency requires most tax information slips, including T4A(P) for CPP benefits and T4A(OAS) for Old Age Security, to be sent to recipients by the last day of February following the tax year.1Canada Revenue Agency. Actual delivery depends on Canada Post. A one- to two-week transit window after mailing is typical, so most people receive their slips in the first half of March. If yours hasn’t arrived by late March, that’s the point to check online or ask for a replacement.

Downloading Your Slips Online

The fastest option is to pull your slips from My Service Canada Account. The online copies are generally posted before the paper versions land in your mailbox, and they are valid for filing your return. The portal lets you view, download, and print both T4A(P) and T4A(OAS) slips for the current and previous years.2Government of Canada. Contact Canada Pension Plan

Once you’re signed in, go to the tax slips section, select the year, and download the PDF. It takes a few minutes. The same slips also show up in CRA My Account, but the official downloadable versions come from the Service Canada side.

If You Don’t Have an Account Yet

Registration requires your Social Insurance Number and identity verification. You can sign in with an Interac Sign-In Partner using online banking credentials from a participating Canadian bank, with a GCKey username and password, or with an Alberta.ca Account or BC Services Card.3Government of Canada. To verify your identity, you can use a Personal Access Code (a 7-digit code from Service Canada), your SIN application number, or Interac verification through a participating bank. If you need a PAC and don’t have one, requesting it online means waiting five to ten business days for it to arrive by mail, or you can request it in person at a Service Canada location. Filing When the Slip Hasn’t Arrived

You don’t have to wait for a missing slip to file on time. The CRA lets you estimate your income using bank statements, direct deposit records, or payment stubs. Include a note with your return identifying the issuer (Service Canada), the type of income, and what you’re doing to get the slip. The filing deadline doesn’t shift because a slip is late. For most people, the 2025 return is due April 30, 2026. Self-employed filers have until June 15, 2026, though any balance owing is still due April 30.5Canada Revenue Agency. Asking for a Replacement

If you’d rather have an official copy than estimate, call Service Canada at 1-800-277-9914 to request a reprint.7Canada Revenue Agency. Line 11300 – Old Age Security (OAS) Pension Have your SIN ready and be prepared to confirm your name and mailing address. There’s no fee.

The reprint arrives by mail, so you’re looking at another wait, and processing times vary with call volume. Close to the April 30 deadline, downloading through My Service Canada Account or estimating from your records will get you filed faster than waiting on a reprint. Non-Residents Get an NR4 Instead

If you live outside Canada and receive CPP or OAS, you won’t get a T4A(P) or T4A(OAS). You’ll get an NR4 slip showing the amounts paid and any non-resident tax withheld. The mailing deadline is the last day of March following the tax year rather than the end of February, and it shifts to the next business day if March 31 falls on a weekend or public holiday.9Canada.ca. The NR4 is not currently available through My Service Canada Account the way the domestic slips are, so non-residents who haven’t received theirs should contact Service Canada directly using the international numbers.
