A Wix.com Inc charge on your bank statement is almost always a subscription or service billed through the Wix website-building platform: a premium site plan, a domain registration, a business email, or a third-party app from the Wix App Market. Nearly all of these renew automatically, so a charge can appear a full year after you last thought about the account. The entry usually reads something like “Wix.com NY” followed by a string of digits, and those digits are the invoice number you’ll use to figure out exactly what was billed.
What the Charge Line Actually Tells You
Bank and card statements show Wix transactions under variations of “Wix.com,” often with a location abbreviation and an invoice number appended. Your bank may truncate the descriptor, but the invoice number is what matters. Write it down before you do anything else. That number ties the charge to a specific service on a specific Wix account, even if you can’t remember creating one.

Premium website plans are the most common source. Wix sells four tiers billed monthly or annually, and annual billing is charged as a single upfront payment for the year, which can make the statement entry look larger than a monthly subscriber would expect.1Wix. Domain registrations are the second common source and the one that surprises people most. A standard .com domain through Wix generally runs between $13 and $20 per year, and because it renews annually rather than monthly, a full year can pass with no Wix activity before the charge reappears.
Wix also resells Google Workspace business email as a separate add-on with its own billing cycle, priced by the Google Workspace tier you chose.2Wix. How to Identify the Specific Charge
Wix runs a charge locator that works even if you don’t have a login or can’t recall which email address you used. Go to the charge locator page and enter the invoice number from your statement, the last four digits of the card that was billed, and the card’s expiration date. If you can log in to a Wix account you think might be involved, go to the Premium Subscriptions page in your account settings. How to Stop Future Charges

Cancel each service separately. A site plan, a domain, and a business email subscription are three independent billing lines; ending one does nothing to the others. If you cancel after the 14-day refund window, premium features stay active until the current billing period ends, then the site reverts to a free Wix URL with Wix ads. Can You Get a Refund?
Wix offers a 14-day money-back guarantee on first-time premium plan purchases. Cancel inside that window and the plan ends immediately with a full refund.7Wix. Canceling a Wix Premium or Studio Plan
Two limits matter. The guarantee applies only to the initial purchase, not to renewals, so an annual plan that just auto-renewed for a second year isn’t eligible. And domain registrations are non-refundable regardless of timing. You can turn off auto-renewal on a domain, but the current registration period’s fee is gone.8Wix.com. Refund Policy for Wix Domains
If the Charge Is Unauthorized
If the charge locator turns up nothing and no email address of yours is tied to a Wix account, contact Wix support first with the invoice number and amount. This order matters. Filing a chargeback through your bank before contacting Wix triggers an immediate cancellation of whatever service the charge was for, possible chargeback-related fees, and in some cases a blocked Wix account. Restoring service later requires a new plan and a different card, and data tied to premium features can be lost.9Wix. Your Rights If You Have to Dispute It
When Wix can’t resolve the issue or the charge is genuinely fraudulent, you can file a billing error dispute with your card issuer under the Fair Credit Billing Act. You have 60 days from the date the statement containing the charge was sent to submit a written dispute. Once the issuer receives a valid dispute, it must acknowledge the notice within 30 days and resolve the investigation within two billing cycles, and in no event more than 90 days. During the investigation, the issuer cannot try to collect the disputed amount from you or report it as delinquent. The 60-day clock is firm. If a Wix charge is sitting on a months-old statement and the window has closed, your options shrink sharply, so it’s worth scanning statements regularly and acting the same week something looks off.
