What Is the OVC Travel AZ Charge on Your Statement?

A charge labeled “OVC travel AZ” on your credit card or bank statement comes from Our Vacation Center, a Scottsdale, Arizona travel company owned by Arrivia, Inc. and formerly known as International Cruise & Excursion Gallery.1Privileges Travel. Terms and Conditions The charge almost always ties back to a travel booking, a booking fee, or a vacation club membership that renewed automatically. The “AZ” in the descriptor is simply the company’s home state.

Why the Charge Is on Your Statement

An OVC transaction usually falls into one of three buckets:

  • A deposit or final payment on a cruise, hotel stay, or vacation package booked through one of Arrivia’s programs.4WORLDvantage. Terms and Conditions
  • An annual membership renewal. Introductory renewal rates have been listed at $99 per year, and reactivating an expired membership costs $200.3Destinos Unlimited. Landing Page
  • Booking or call-center fees for phone reservations, charged per booking for hotels and cars or per ticket for airlines.1Privileges Travel. Terms and Conditions

Charges usually process the same business day but can take up to three business days to appear. If a payment is declined, the company assesses a denial fee of $25 per person after a deposit or $50 per person after final payment.1Privileges Travel. Terms and Conditions

Memberships renew automatically. If you don’t want to be charged again, you have to cancel before the renewal date.

Canceling and Getting a Refund

Cancellation fees for a specific booking depend on the supplier and are listed on the booking confirmation. Refunds on cancelled bookings can take six to eight weeks.3Destinos Unlimited. Landing Page

For membership charges, the terms give a limited window to rescind. Non-Florida residents have 10 days from enrollment to cancel for a full refund. Florida residents have 30 days under Florida Statute 559.933. After that window, membership dues refunds are subject to processing and administrative fees and can take up to 90 days.1Privileges Travel. Terms and Conditions

Not the Same Company as Online Vacation Center

Our Vacation Center is not affiliated with Online Vacation Center, a Fort Lauderdale-based cruise retailer with a similar name. The Better Business Bureau specifically warns consumers that the two are separate.5Better Business Bureau. Disputing an OVC Charge

Start with the merchant. Calling Arrivia at 1-800-860-0763 and asking them to identify the transaction often resolves an unfamiliar-looking charge, especially if a spouse, family member, or other authorized user on your card booked travel or enrolled in a membership.

If the merchant won’t resolve it or the charge is unauthorized, dispute it with your card issuer. Under the Fair Credit Billing Act, your written dispute must reach the issuer within 60 days of the statement date on which the charge first appeared.6Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. How Do I Dispute a Charge on My Credit Card Bill Send it to the issuer’s billing inquiries address (not the payment address), include your name, account number, and a description of the disputed charge, and use certified mail with return receipt.7Federal Trade Commission. The issuer has to acknowledge your dispute within 30 days and resolve it within 90 days. While the investigation is open, you don’t have to pay the disputed amount, and the issuer can’t report it as delinquent or send it to collections.8Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
