A charge labeled “OURARING INC” on your card statement comes from Oura, the company that makes the Oura Ring health-tracking wearable. It’s one of three things: the ring itself (starting at $349), a recurring membership fee ($5.99 a month or $69.99 a year before tax), or an accessory order. If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, the charge may show up under those platforms rather than as an Oura Ring Inc charge, which is why some people don’t recognize it at first.
What the Charge Is Likely For
The biggest Oura charge is the hardware. The current Oura Ring 4 runs from $349 for silver or black up to $499 for gold or rose gold, with brushed silver and stealth black at $399.1Wareable. Oura Ring 4 vs. Ring 3: Should Ring 3 Owners Upgrade? A one-time charge in that range is almost certainly a ring purchase.
Smaller recurring charges are the Oura Membership at $5.99 monthly or $69.99 annually before tax.2Oura. Oura Ring Membership New members get the first month free, so the first membership charge usually posts about 30 days after you activate the ring. If you picked the annual plan, expect one yearly debit instead of twelve monthly ones. A free-trial lapse is the most common reason for a surprise membership charge: if you meant to cancel before the trial ended and didn’t complete it, the first paid cycle will post.
Accessory charges are smaller and separate. The portable charging case is $99, and replacement chargers and sizing kits bill individually.
How to Look Up the Charge in Your Account
Billing lives in the Oura Membership Hub, a web portal separate from the phone app. Sign in with the email you used when you bought the ring; that address is the account’s unique identifier. If the ring was a gift, the account is tied to whatever email the gift buyer entered as the recipient.3Oura Member Care. How to Confirm Your Oura Ring Size
The portal uses a one-time code rather than a password. Enter your email, grab the code from your inbox within 15 minutes, and sign in.3Oura Member Care. Using the My Orders Portal Matching the date and amount from your statement to an entry here is usually enough to confirm what the charge was.
Stopping the Charges
If you subscribed directly on Oura’s website, open the Membership Hub, go to the membership section, and cancel. You’ll confirm, get an email receipt, and keep access through the end of the paid period. No further charges post after that.
Updating a card works the same way. Add the new card or digital wallet in the Hub, and Oura uses it on the next cycle.
If You Subscribed Through Apple or Google
This is where people get stuck. Canceling inside the Oura app or on Oura’s website does not stop App Store or Google Play billing, because those platforms control the subscription.
On an iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, select Subscriptions, find Oura, and tap Cancel Subscription. If Oura isn’t listed there, you subscribed directly through Oura, not Apple, and need to cancel in the Membership Hub.
On Android, open the Play Store, go to your subscriptions, select Oura, and tap Cancel Subscription.5Google. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play Google Play also lets you pause payments for up to three months if you just want a break. Uninstalling the app does not cancel anything; billing continues until you cancel through the store.
Returns and Refunds on a Recent Ring Purchase
If the charge is for a ring you no longer want, you have 30 days from delivery to return a fully functional, undamaged ring bought directly from Oura’s online store.6Oura Member Care. Return and Exchange FAQs Pack everything from the original shipment: the ring, the charger, and the USB-C cable. Oura sends a prepaid shipping label, so return postage is covered, and there’s no restocking fee under current policy.7Oura Member Care. Return or Exchange an Oura Product
The original shipping and handling fees and any customs charges from the first order are not refunded.6Oura Member Care. Return and Exchange FAQs Oura also doesn’t do direct exchanges; to swap size or color, return the first ring for a refund and place a new order.
If an HSA or FSA Card Was Charged
Oura purchases are generally eligible for health savings and flexible spending accounts. The ring, applicable taxes, shipping, and the ongoing membership fee all qualify, and you can add an HSA or FSA card as a payment method in the Membership Hub for recurring charges. The two-year and three-year extended protection plans are not eligible and have to come out of your cart before you check out with those funds. Oura doesn’t support split payments either, so the card needs enough balance to cover the whole transaction.8Oura Member Care. Purchase with HSA or FSA Funds
Warranty Replacement Charges
A new charge after a hardware problem may be tied to a warranty claim. New rings carry a one-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. Certified refurbished rings from authorized sellers have a 90-day warranty, and customers in many countries outside the United States get two years under local consumer protection law.9Oura Member Care. Warranty FAQs
Lost or stolen rings, normal scratches and dents, battery degradation, and rings from unauthorized resellers aren’t covered.9Oura Member Care. Warranty FAQs If the replacement falls outside warranty coverage, Oura charges for the new device. Replacements ship as low-value parts, so most countries don’t apply customs fees, though a small import fee is possible depending on your location.
Disputing a Charge You Don’t Recognize
Start with Oura. Their support portal has a “Submit a Request” option for double charges, wrong amounts, or charges that posted after you canceled. Attach a screenshot of the statement line showing date, amount, and descriptor so their team can match it quickly. Replies usually come within one to two business days.
If Oura can’t resolve it or you believe the charge was unauthorized, go to your card issuer next. Under federal law, you have 60 days from the date the statement containing the disputed charge was sent to submit a written billing error notice to your credit card issuer. The notice needs your name, account number, the disputed amount, and your reason. The issuer must acknowledge the dispute within 30 days and resolve it within two billing cycles, up to 90 days.10Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 15 USC 1666 – Correction of Billing Errors
Those credit card protections apply to open-end credit accounts. If you paid with a debit card, the dispute runs under Regulation E, which governs electronic fund transfers and has different timelines. For preauthorized recurring charges like the Oura membership, Regulation E requires the authorization terms to be clear and readily understandable, and the company must provide you a copy of the authorization.11Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. 12 CFR 1005.10 – Preauthorized Transfers If those requirements weren’t met, that strengthens a dispute through your bank.
