A charge labeled Crayo Inc or CRAYO.AI on your bank statement is a subscription to Crayo.ai, an AI short-form video creation platform based in San Jose, California. The monthly plans run from $19 to $79, so if the amount on your statement falls in that range, someone with access to your payment method signed up for the service. Here is how to confirm the charge, cancel the subscription, and dispute it if the billing is wrong.
What the Charge Is
Crayo.ai is software that uses AI to generate short video clips for social media and marketing. On statements the transaction usually appears as CRAYO.AI, Crayo Inc, or CRAYO SUBSCRIPTION. Payments are processed domestically in the United States, so the charge shouldn’t trigger a foreign transaction fee on most cards.
If you don’t remember signing up, check your email for a Crayo.ai welcome message or receipt before assuming fraud. The common explanations are a household member using your card, an account you created while testing AI tools and forgot about, or a subscription you thought you canceled that is still active.
Match the Amount to a Plan
Crayo.ai sells three subscription tiers. Match the dollar figure on your statement to one of these:
- Hobby: $19 per month, or about $13 per month when billed annually at $160.
- Clipper: $39 per month, or about $27 per month when billed annually at $327.
- Pro: $79 per month, or about $55 per month when billed annually at $664.
As of 2026, Crayo.ai does not offer a free trial or a free plan.1Crayo AI. Pricing – Crayo AI Every account is paid from the start, so the charge isn’t a surprise conversion from a trial. If the amount doesn’t line up exactly with a tier, check whether sales tax on digital subscriptions in your state has been added.
How to Cancel
Cancel through the subscription management section of your Crayo.ai account dashboard. Log in with the email address you used to sign up, open your account or billing settings, and look for the cancellation option. The platform should generate a confirmation email or ticket number. Save it. If the charge reappears in a later cycle, that confirmation is your proof.
If you can’t get into the dashboard, email the support address on the Crayo.ai help center. Use a subject line like “Cancellation Request” with your account email, and state in the body that you want the subscription terminated. Include the charge date and dollar amount so support can locate the account quickly.
Under the Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act, any company selling subscriptions online must give you a straightforward way to stop recurring charges.2Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 15 USC 8403 – Negative Option Marketing on the Internet The FTC has interpreted that to mean cancellation should be at least as easy as sign-up. If Crayo makes you work through steps that didn’t exist when you subscribed, mention that to your bank when you dispute.
Refunds
Crayo.ai maintains a no-refund policy. All sales are final, and the company does not prorate refunds for unused days remaining in a billing cycle. When you cancel, your access to paid features continues through the end of the current cycle, but you won’t get money back for time you didn’t use.
Timing matters. If you just noticed the charge and you’re a day or two into a new cycle, cancel now. You won’t recover the current month’s payment, but you’ll prevent the next one. Wait a few days longer and another full charge locks in.
Disputing the Charge With Your Bank
If Crayo ignores your cancellation, keeps billing after you’ve canceled, or the charge is genuinely unauthorized, file a dispute with your bank. Your rights and the process depend on whether the charge hit a credit card or a debit card.
Credit Card
Credit card disputes fall under the Fair Credit Billing Act. You have 60 days from the date your statement was sent to notify your card issuer in writing that it contains a billing error.3Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 15 USC 1666 – Correction of Billing Errors The notice needs your name, account number, the dollar amount, and why you believe the charge is wrong. Most issuers let you file through their app or website. Miss the 60-day window and the issuer has no obligation to investigate.
Once you file, the issuer must acknowledge the complaint within 30 days and resolve it within two billing cycles. During the investigation you don’t have to pay the disputed amount, and the issuer can’t report it as delinquent.4Federal Trade Commission. Fair Credit Billing Act
Debit Card
Debit card disputes are governed by the Electronic Fund Transfer Act and Regulation E. The same 60-day window applies from the date your statement was sent, but the money is already out of your checking account, and provisional credit during the investigation isn’t guaranteed the way it is with credit cards.5Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. 12 CFR 1005.11 – Procedures for Resolving Errors Your bank typically has 10 business days to investigate, or 20 business days for new accounts. If it needs more time, it can extend to 45 days but must provisionally credit your account in the meantime.
For either card type, keep copies of your cancellation confirmation, any email with Crayo support, and screenshots of the charge. Banks resolve disputes faster when you hand them a clear paper trail.
Why a New Card Won’t Stop the Billing
A common instinct is to cancel the card and get a new number, assuming that blocks future Crayo charges. It usually won’t. Visa, Mastercard, and other networks run account updater services that automatically share your new card details with merchants holding your old card on file for recurring billing.6Visa Developer. Visa Account Updater Overview The system exists so legitimate subscriptions don’t lapse when a card is reissued, but it also means a subscription you’re trying to escape can follow you to the new card.
To actually block the transfer, ask your card issuer to opt you out of account updater services for Crayo specifically. Not every issuer makes this easy, and some reps may not know the option exists. Be specific: tell them you want to opt out of Visa Account Updater, or the Mastercard equivalent, so the merchant cannot receive your updated credentials.7Visa Developer.
