A charge labeled “Stillfront” on your bank statement is a payment for an in-game purchase in one of the mobile or browser games owned by Stillfront Group, a Swedish gaming company that owns more than 20 studios. The same transaction can also show up as “GGS,” “GoodGameStudios,” or “Stillfront Germany,” depending on which subsidiary processed the payment. If the game’s name isn’t on the statement, that’s why: the descriptor points to the payment processor, not the title someone was playing.
Most of the time, an unfamiliar Stillfront charge turns out to be a legitimate purchase made by someone in the household who has access to the card. If it isn’t, you have a few concrete ways to get the money back.
Why the Charge Doesn’t Match a Game Name
Stillfront Group AB is the parent company, and many of its studios route payments through a shared processor rather than billing under the individual game’s brand. Purchases made on KIXEYE.com, for example, are processed by Goodgame Studios, so the descriptor reads “GGS,” “GoodGameStudios,” or “Stillfront.”1KIXEYE Support. Why Does My Bank Statement Show GGS, Good Game Studios, or Stillfront for My Purchase
The Stillfront label is most common when a purchase goes through a game’s website or webshop rather than a mobile app store. Purchases made inside an app on iPhone or Android are usually billed by Apple or Google under their own descriptors, not Stillfront’s.
Which Games Could Have Produced the Charge
Stillfront’s games run across strategy, simulation, casual, card, and role-playing genres, and roughly 90 percent of the company’s revenue comes from in-app purchases, so the charge could tie back to almost any title in the portfolio.2MFN (Stillfront Annual Report). Stillfront Annual Report 2025 The highest-grossing franchises are the ones most likely to be the source:
- Jawaker, a card and board game platform popular in the Middle East.
- The Supremacy strategy franchise, including Supremacy 1914 and Call of War, from Bytro Labs.
- BitLife, the life-simulation game from Candywriter.
- The Big Farm franchise from Goodgame Studios.
- Empire: Four Kingdoms, also from Goodgame Studios.
- Albion Online, the cross-platform MMO from Sandbox Interactive.
Other Stillfront studios whose games could generate the same descriptor include KIXEYE (War Commander), Storm8, Nanobit, Simutronics, Babil Games, Imperia Online, Playa Games (Shakes & Fidget), eRepublik Labs, Super Free Games, Moonfrog Labs, and Six Waves.3Stillfront. How to Resolve or Dispute the Charge
If checking with family doesn’t explain the charge, or the amount is wrong, you have three routes.
Contact the studio directly. KIXEYE players can reach support through KIXEYE’s help center.4KIXEYE Support. The Refund Window for Direct Purchases
For purchases processed through Stillfront Germany GmbH, which covers Goodgame Studios and several other European titles, the company’s cancellation policy gives buyers 14 days from the date of purchase to cancel without giving a reason. The cancellation has to be in writing, sent by mail, fax, or email to odr@stillfront.com. If the cancellation is valid, Stillfront must issue a refund within 30 days.6Stillfront Germany GmbH. There is a significant catch for digital content. The right to cancel expires as soon as delivery of the virtual currency or item has begun, provided the buyer gave express consent to immediate delivery and acknowledged that doing so meant giving up the cancellation right.6Stillfront Germany GmbH. Stillfront Germany Cancellation Policy Most in-game purchases are delivered instantly, so in practice this exception applies to the great majority of transactions, and the studios can decline a refund on that basis.
Stillfront Germany’s general terms also state that users are responsible for costs from chargebacks or cancellation fees when those costs result from the user’s own actions, such as insufficient account funds, and that the company does not participate in consumer arbitration proceedings.8Stillfront Germany GmbH. General Terms and Conditions
One boundary worth flagging: if the purchase was made inside an app on an iPhone or Android device, the refund rules that apply are Apple’s or Google’s, not Stillfront’s, because the app store handled the payment. In that situation you’d request the refund through your Apple or Google account, and the charge on your statement will show up under the app store rather than Stillfront in the first place.
