You Can Still Get Care Today

Medicare Advantage and Part D Cards Are Separate

- If you suspect misuse tied to your Social Security record, file a report at oig.ssa.gov or call the SSA Office of Inspector General fraud hotline at 1-800-269-0271.8Social Security Administration. Fraud Prevention and Reporting
Then watch your Medicare Summary Notices. They list every service billed to your number. Charges for care you never received are a signal to call and report the fraud right away.
Make the Next Time Easier
When the new card arrives, keep a photocopy somewhere separate from the original and write the Medicare number down in a secure place at home. A photo on your phone can help in a pinch, though some providers will want the printed or physical card for their records. If you don’t have frequent appointments, leave the card at home rather than carrying it in your wallet. The less it travels, the less likely you’ll be replacing it again.
