An Endurance auto warranty covers vehicle repairs caused by mechanical or electrical breakdown, and exactly which parts are covered depends on the plan tier you buy. The Supreme plan covers nearly every component on the car except a short exclusion list; the Secure plan covers only the engine, transmission, drive axle, and a handful of related parts; and four other tiers sit between those two extremes. Every plan comes with 24/7 roadside assistance, rental car reimbursement, and a first year of extra perks called Elite Benefits.
The Six Coverage Tiers
Endurance sells six main plans. Two of them (Supreme and Superior) approach bumper-to-bumper territory. Two more (Secure Plus and Secure) are powertrain-focused. Select Premier is built for older cars, and EnduranceAdvantage bundles repair coverage with routine maintenance.
Supreme
Supreme is Endurance’s only exclusionary contract, which means it covers every part on the vehicle unless the contract specifically lists it as excluded. Covered systems include the engine, transmission, drive axle, braking, steering, suspension, cooling, fuel delivery, electrical, air conditioning, seals and gaskets, navigation, and the transfer case.1Endurance Warranty. What Is Covered Even at this top tier, paint, glass, fuses, bumpers, the exhaust system, the catalytic converter, routine maintenance items, brake pads, tires, and standard wear parts are excluded.2Automoblog. Superior
Superior is the broadest inclusionary plan Endurance sells. It names hundreds of covered parts across the engine, transmission, drive axle, air conditioning, cooling system, fuel system, brakes, suspension, steering, gaskets, electrical components, and turbo or supercharger assemblies.3MarketWatch. Endurance Warranty Review Because it works from a list of covered components rather than a list of exclusions, anything the contract doesn’t name is not covered.
Secure Plus
Secure Plus is a mid-level plan covering the engine, transmission, transfer case, drive axle assembly, turbo or supercharger, brakes, steering, electrical components, and air conditioning.4Endurance Warranty. What’s Included in the Secure Plus Endurance Plan Cooling system, fuel system, suspension, and gaskets are not covered at this tier.3MarketWatch. Endurance Warranty Review A hybrid add-on covers the electric drive motor, inverter assembly, power controller, generators, and the electronic A/C compressor and power steering pump; hybrid batteries are excluded.5Endurance Warranty. Secure
Secure is the most basic plan Endurance offers. It covers the engine, transmission, drive axle, turbo or supercharger, transfer case, and electrical components.3MarketWatch. Endurance Warranty Review Brakes, steering, suspension, air conditioning, fuel delivery, cooling, and gaskets are not. The maximum payout on the Secure plan is capped at the lesser of $10,000 or the NADA average trade-in value of the vehicle at the time of the repair.6Endurance Warranty. Select Premier
Select Premier is designed for older and higher-mileage vehicles with up to 150,000 miles on the odometer. It covers select lubricated internal parts of the engine, transmission, and drive axle, plus the cooling system, heating, electrical, and air conditioning.7Endurance Warranty. Extended Warranties for Cars Over 100K Steering, suspension, brakes, the fuel system, and gaskets are outside its scope.3MarketWatch. Endurance Warranty Review
EnduranceAdvantage
EnduranceAdvantage is the only plan that includes routine maintenance alongside breakdown protection. The maintenance benefit totals up to $3,500 and covers up to three oil and filter changes per year, an engine diagnostic exam, an alignment check, tire rotation, and a state safety inspection. One-time services include brake pad or shoe replacement, cooling system maintenance, front or rear wiper blade replacement, battery replacement, and a scheduled service allowance.8Endurance Warranty. EnduranceAdvantage Plus Explained Three Advantage sub-tiers exist: Prime (vehicles up to 20 years old, unlimited mileage), Plus (up to 15 years, 200,000 miles), and Preferred (up to 10 years, 150,000 miles, with seals-and-gaskets coverage included).9Endurance Warranty. Luxury Vehicles and Teslas Work Differently
Supreme has a dedicated version for luxury brands called Highline, launched in January 2022. It applies to vehicles under eight years old with fewer than 80,000 miles and covers qualifying Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, and Porsche models.10Automotive News. Endurance Expands Vehicle Protection Plans to Include Luxury Car Brands The Highline plan carries a $500 deductible, higher than the deductible options available on other tiers.11Endurance Warranty. Extended Warranties for Luxury Vehicles
Fully electric vehicles are not covered by Endurance’s own plans. Instead, Endurance partners with Xcelerate Auto to offer XCare EV Protection for Tesla models. XCare is an exclusionary plan covering nearly every part and system, with exclusions for wear items like tires, the 12V battery, body panels, paint, glass, and external charging cords.12Xcelerate Auto. XCare EV Protection A battery-and-drive-unit-only option is also available exclusively for Tesla owners, providing up to $25,000 in battery replacement coverage. Eligible vehicles must be within 10 model years and under 125,000 miles at the time the contract is purchased.13The ACE Group. XCare EV Protection Plan Details
What Endurance Will Not Cover
Every Endurance contract has an exclusion section, and even the top-tier Supreme plan leaves these categories out:
- Pre-existing conditions, meaning any problem that existed before the contract started.
- Routine maintenance such as oil changes, fluid flushes, and filter replacements, unless the customer holds an EnduranceAdvantage plan.
- Wear items including brake pads, shoes, rotors, wiper blades, light bulbs, batteries, and tires.
- Body, cosmetic, and trim parts: paint, interior and exterior trim, body panels, frame, and bumpers.
- The exhaust system, including the catalytic converter.
- Audio and entertainment systems.
- Damage from rust, corrosion, flood, hail, and other environmental or weather sources.
- Damage from accidents, misuse, racing, off-road use, overloading, or improper fuel or fluids.
- Aftermarket modifications, including high-performance parts, conversion kits, and oversized or undersized wheels and tires.
- Any repair performed without prior authorization from Endurance.
Airbags are excluded across all plans.14Car Talk. Endurance Warranty Review On the lower-tier inclusionary plans (Secure, Select Premier), the effective exclusion list is broader because anything not specifically named in the contract is automatically outside the coverage.6Endurance Warranty. How Repairs Get Paid
A covered breakdown can be taken to any licensed, ASE-certified repair facility, whether that’s a dealership, a national chain, or an independent garage. Endurance partners with RepairPal for a network of more than 4,000 certified shops, but you aren’t restricted to that network. Before any work begins, the shop must contact Endurance for authorization; unauthorized repairs are not paid.18Endurance Warranty. Best Practices for Filing a Claim With Endurance Warranty
Once authorized and completed, Endurance pays the repair facility directly. You pay only the deductible. Repair orders and documentation must be submitted within 30 days of the repair. If a breakdown happens after hours and the vehicle is unsafe or inoperable, emergency repairs can proceed without prior approval, but Endurance must be called within five business days.
Why Claims Get Denied
The most common reasons a claim is turned down, drawing on Endurance’s own guidance and consumer complaints to the Better Business Bureau:
- The failed part isn’t included in your specific plan, such as an air conditioning claim on a powertrain-only contract.
- Missing maintenance records. Endurance requires proof the vehicle has been serviced according to the manufacturer’s schedule, and missing oil-change receipts or skipped intervals can sink a claim.
- Aftermarket modifications tied to the failure, including non-factory superchargers, custom wheels, or lift kits.
- Pre-existing conditions that predate the start of the contract.
- Repairs performed before Endurance authorized them.19Endurance Warranty. Why Claims Get Denied – Common Reasons
BBB complaints also point to frustration over coverage caps that weren’t clearly explained at purchase and over verbal assurances from sales representatives that contradicted the written contract.20BBB. Endurance Warranty Services LLC Complaints
Waiting Period and Vehicle Eligibility
No claim can be filed during the first 30 days and 1,000 miles after purchase. The waiting period keeps customers from signing up to cover a problem they already know about.21CNBC Select. Endurance Extended Car Warranty
Cars, trucks, and SUVs up to 20 years old can qualify. Endurance states there is no overall mileage cap, but each tier has its own ceiling: Select Premier accepts vehicles up to 150,000 miles, and Advantage Plus goes up to 200,000. Salvage- and rebuilt-title vehicles, Canadian Grey Market vehicles, and cars used for rideshare or delivery work are all accepted, though surcharges apply for commercial use and certain vehicle categories.9Endurance Warranty.
