A charge from Webpeak OÜ on your bank or credit card statement is almost always a recurring subscription to the company’s iPhone app, Phone Tracker – Family Locator (also listed as Location Tracker – Find My Phone). The payment is processed through the Apple App Store, not by Webpeak directly, and it will keep hitting your card on a weekly, monthly, or annual cycle until you cancel it in your device’s subscription settings. Deleting the app does not stop the billing.
What the Charge Is
Webpeak OÜ is an Estonia-registered software company whose main published app is a location-sharing tool that lets users track family members or friends who have installed the app and accepted an invitation. Paying unlocks features such as unlimited alerts, real-time tracking, and extended location history. Because the app is sold through the App Store, Webpeak “does not manage payments directly,” and billing is handled by Apple.1Apple App Store. Location Tracker – Find My Phone
Pricing varies by region and tier. Listed U.S. options include weekly plans at $5.99 to $11.99, monthly plans at $14.99 to $22.99, and annual plans at $49.99 to $69.99, with a family weekly plan at $9.99. Some regions also show a lifetime-access option. The developer states that “there are no trials available,” so any charge reflects an active paid subscription rather than a trial that converted.1Apple App Store. Location Tracker – Find My Phone
One point confuses many people: removing the app from your phone does nothing to the subscription. The subscription lives in your Apple or Google account, and charges continue until you cancel there.
How to Cancel the Subscription
On an iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions. Find the Webpeak OÜ or Phone Tracker entry, tap it, and select Cancel Subscription.2Apple Support. How to Cancel a Subscription From Apple On a Mac, open the App Store, click your name, go to Account Settings, scroll to Subscriptions, and click Manage. If the charge somehow came through Google Play instead, open the Play Store, tap your profile icon, then Payments & Subscriptions, then Subscriptions, and cancel from there.3Google Play Help. Once you cancel, you keep access to the paid features for the rest of the billing period you already paid for. Webpeak’s terms say “no refunds will be provided for partial billing periods,” and the company holds user data for 30 days after cancellation before deleting it.4Webpeak. Terms of Service
How to Get a Refund
If you were charged after you thought you had canceled, or someone in your household subscribed without your knowledge, start with the platform that processed the payment.
For App Store charges, sign in at reportaproblem.apple.com, select Request a refund, choose a reason, pick the specific charge, and submit. Apple typically responds within 48 hours.5Apple Support. Request a Refund for Apps or Content That You Bought From Apple A refund request does not cancel the subscription, so you need to do both.6Apple Support. If You Want a Refund From Apple If you use Family Sharing, check under “All” on the report-a-problem page, since a family member’s purchase may have been billed to the shared payment method.
For Google Play, go to play.google.com, click your profile picture, then Payments & Subscriptions, then Budget & Order History. Find the order, click Report a problem, and follow the prompts. Refund requests made within 48 hours of the transaction are more likely to be approved; after that, approval is at the developer’s discretion.7Google Play Help. If neither platform resolves it, dispute the charge with your credit card issuer. Under the Fair Credit Billing Act, you have 60 days from the date the charge first appeared on your statement to send a written dispute to the card issuer’s billing-inquiry address. The issuer must acknowledge the complaint within 30 days and resolve it within 90 days. You may withhold payment on the disputed amount while it’s being investigated, and federal law caps your liability for unauthorized credit card charges at $50.9Federal Trade Commission.
