ViCoverage Charge: How to Cancel, Dispute, or File a Claim

A ViCoverage charge on a credit card is almost always an optional insurance policy someone on the account agreed to during an online checkout, most often when registering for a youth sports league, buying event tickets, or booking through a platform that offers embedded protection. ViCoverage is the consumer brand of Vertical Insure, a Minneapolis company that sells its coverage through partner websites rather than directly.1Vertical Insure. Company2ViCoverage. What Did I Buy If you don’t want the policy, you can cancel it within ten days of purchase for a refund, and if that window has passed you can dispute the charge with your card issuer under the Fair Credit Billing Act.

Where the Charge Came From

ViCoverage doesn’t sell policies from its own storefront. It embeds an add-on option into the checkout pages of partner platforms, so the charge appears after someone clicks a box during an unrelated transaction. The prompt is usually labeled something like “Protect Your Registration,” “Add Accident & Injury Insurance,” or “Ticket Refund Protection.”2ViCoverage. What Did I Buy

Known partner platforms include LeagueApps for youth sports registration, GrowthZone for association management, Inntopia for ski resort bookings, Goodshuffle Pro for event rentals, and Blackbaud for K-12 school enrollment.3LeagueApps. Disputing the Charge After the Cancellation Window

If the ten-day window has passed and you believe you never knowingly opted into the coverage, the Fair Credit Billing Act gives you a path with your card issuer. Send a written dispute to the issuer’s billing inquiries address within 60 days of the statement date on which the charge appeared. Include your name, account number, a description of the error, and any supporting documentation.11Federal Trade Commission. Using Credit Cards and Disputing Charges

If You Want To Keep the Coverage and File a Claim

If the charge turns out to represent a policy you’d actually use, claims run through the same customer portal at customers.verticalinsure.com. Log in, find the active policy, and select the option to file a claim. Complete the claim form and upload documentation appropriate to the policy: for accident and injury, that typically means a coach’s note confirming the injury date, proof of team participation, and medical receipts; for registration protection, medical records or proof of job loss.

Accident and injury claims must be started within 30 days of the injury, though documentation can be added after the initial form is submitted. On the LeagueApps platform, typical payouts are described as five to seven business days once required documentation is in.3LeagueApps. Registration Insurance FAQs for Members7ViCoverage. Coverage has limits worth knowing before you count on it. Registration and refund protection do not pay out when a participant simply decides not to attend, has a scheduling conflict, or has a pre-existing condition, and they do not cover cancellations initiated by the event host.
