How to File an Application
Paper Filing Through a USCIS Lockbox
Paper applications go to a Lockbox, not to the Nebraska Service Center. The correct Lockbox address depends on the form and, for some forms, where you live.10U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Premium Processing and Expedite Requests
Premium processing, requested with Form I-907, guarantees USCIS action on eligible employment-based cases within 15 calendar days. It is available for Form I-129 (nonimmigrant worker petitions), Form I-140 (immigrant worker petitions), certain categories of Form I-765, and certain classifications of Form I-539.15U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. I-907, Request for Premium Processing Service
Fees vary by form. As of March 1, 2026, the fee is $2,965 for I-140 petitions and most I-129 petitions (including H-1B, L-1, and O-1), $2,075 for certain I-539 change-of-status applications, and $1,780 for employment authorization applications and certain other I-129 classifications like H-2B and R-1.16Federal Register. Adjustment to Premium Processing Fees If your I-140 is already pending at the Nebraska Service Center and you want to upgrade it, file the I-907 directly with the Lincoln address rather than a Lockbox.

Expedite Requests Wanting work authorization sooner or planning personal travel does not qualify. Expedite requests are submitted through the Contact Center.
Tracking Your Case

In-Person Services Near Lincoln
The Nebraska Service Center offers no in-person services at all. No walk-ins, no interviews, no biometrics. Field Offices handle interviews for naturalization and adjustment cases. Application Support Centers (ASCs) handle fingerprints and photographs.
The nearest ASC to Lincoln is in Omaha at 1717 Avenue H, Omaha, NE 68110.20U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Application Support Center – Omaha, NE The Omaha ASC works by appointment, with walk-in service for military personnel Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It does not answer case-status questions or accept filings. For field offices, use the USCIS office locator at egov.uscis.gov.21U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. USCIS Service and Office Locator
Biometric appointments are scheduled by USCIS, and the notice lists the date, time, and ASC location. Missing a biometrics appointment is one of the fastest ways to lose a pending case. USCIS treats a missed appointment as abandonment unless you submitted a change-of-address notice or a rescheduling request before the appointment time.22USCIS Policy Manual. Chapter 2 – Biometrics Collection If you realize afterward that you missed it, submit a rescheduling request as soon as possible. USCIS has discretion to deny it, and the longer you wait, the harder recovery gets.
Keeping Your Address Updated
If you move while a case is pending at the Nebraska Service Center, you are legally required to notify USCIS within 10 days.23USCIS Policy Manual. Chapter 10 – Changes of Address The rule applies to most noncitizens in the United States regardless of immigration status, and it applies even without a pending case. The fastest way to update is through the Enterprise Change of Address tool in your USCIS online account, which updates pending cases immediately. Filing a paper Form AR-11 by mail also works, but correspondence can go to the old address before the update processes.
An outdated address can cost you interview notices, biometric letters, requests for evidence, and decision notices. Missing any of them because USCIS mailed to the wrong address is generally treated the same as failing to respond, and the case can be denied or abandoned.
