A Uline credit card charge is a purchase of shipping, packaging, or industrial supplies from Uline, one of North America’s largest distributors of those products. Uline has no subscriptions or memberships, so every charge ties back to a specific order somebody placed. If it looks unfamiliar, the usual explanations are a colleague or family member ordering on the account, shipping and tax pushing the total above the product price, or, less often, an unauthorized transaction.
How the Charge Appears on Your Statement
Depending on the card network and how the payment routed, a Uline transaction can post under any of these descriptors:
- ULINE
- ULINE *SHIP SUPPLIES
- ULINE SHIP SUPPLIES
- BILL*Uline
Any of those means the charge came from an order placed through Uline’s website, catalog, or phone line.1Brex. Charge Finder – Uline The descriptor doesn’t say what was bought or who bought it. To see that, log into the account at uline.com and open the invoice history.
Why the Amount Doesn’t Match What You Expected
Even when the order itself is legitimate, the total on the statement can look off. Three things usually account for the gap.
Shipping and Handling
Uline does not offer free shipping. Costs are calculated from the weight, dimensions, quantity, destination, and delivery method, and the carrier’s rate passes through to the customer.2Uline. How Are Shipping Charges Determined A $1.50 handling fee is added to every shipment.3Uline. Terms and Conditions These figures are shown at checkout, but they don’t always register at the time, especially on heavy or oversized items where freight can be steep.
Sales Tax
Uline collects sales tax in every U.S. state and the District of Columbia except Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon.4Uline. Tax Information The rate follows the shipping address, not the billing address; Texas is the exception, where the Uline warehouse address sets the rate.5Uline. Sales Tax FAQ In many states the shipping and handling are also taxable, which adds a few dollars that weren’t visible on the product page. Tax-exempt buyers who were charged in error can request a credit from Uline’s tax department at 888-362-1909 or taxdepartment@uline.com.
Split Shipments
Uline ships from whichever warehouse is closest, and a large order sometimes leaves more than one location. When that happens, each shipment can post as its own charge, so a single order shows up as multiple line items on the statement.
No Subscriptions, No Auto-Billing
Uline has no subscription service, auto-ship program, or membership fee. Every charge corresponds to an order somebody actively placed.1Brex. Charge Finder – Uline There is an “Order Reminder” feature, but it only sends an email prompting a reorder. It does not trigger a charge or a shipment on its own.6Uline. Order Reminders FAQ A Uline charge that appears month after month means someone is placing a new order each time.
What to Do If the Charge Isn’t Yours
Once you’ve checked with everyone who has access to the card and no one recognizes the order, treat the charge as potentially unauthorized.

Dispute It With Your Card Issuer
If Uline can’t resolve the charge or you believe it’s fraudulent, the Fair Credit Billing Act lets you dispute it through your card company. Federal law caps your liability for unauthorized credit card charges at $50.8Federal Trade Commission. Using Credit Cards and Disputing Charges To keep your full protections, send a written dispute to the issuer’s billing inquiries address, not the payment address, within 60 days of the date the charge first appeared on your statement.9Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. How Do I Dispute a Charge on My Credit Card Bill Include your name, account number, the charge amount and date, and why you think it’s wrong. Certified mail gives you proof of delivery.
Once the issuer has your notice, it must acknowledge the dispute within 30 days and resolve it within 90 days or two billing cycles, whichever is shorter. While the investigation is open, you don’t have to pay the disputed amount, and the issuer can’t report it as delinquent or send it to collections. You do have to pay any undisputed balance. If the issuer denies the dispute, you have 10 days to appeal, and you can also file a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.8Federal Trade Commission. What If It’s a Credit Instead of a Charge
A Uline credit on your statement, rather than a debit, is usually a refund. Uline accepts returns of stock items within 30 days of receipt if the products are in resalable condition.10Uline.
