A charge reading “SP VITAL BLOOM” or “SP * VITAL BLOOM” on your credit card or bank statement is a purchase processed through Shopify Payments from Vital Bloom Tea, an online store that sells herbal tea blends. The “SP” prefix is the marker Shopify Payments adds to every transaction it handles; the rest is the merchant’s billing name. If you don’t remember buying tea, the SP Vital Bloom charge is most often a forgotten order, an auto-renewed subscription, or a purchase made by someone else with access to your card. Less often, it’s unauthorized, and you have clear rights if it is.
What the SP Prefix Means
Shopify Payments formats every statement entry as “SP * [STORENAME].”1Shopify Community. What follows is a customizable billing descriptor the merchant sets in Shopify Payments, which must include the shop name, legal entity name, DBA, or URL.2Shopify Help Center.
