SouthState Bank Direct Deposit Form: Steps, ClickSWITCH, and Timing

To set up direct deposit into a SouthState Bank account, fill out the SouthState Bank direct deposit form with routing number 063114030 and your account number, then hand the signed form to your employer’s payroll or HR department. The bank uses the same routing number across South Carolina, Georgia, North Carolina, Florida, Alabama, Virginia, Texas, and Colorado.1SouthState Bank. Need a Little Help? If you’d rather skip paper entirely, SouthState’s ClickSWITCH tool inside online banking does the same job in about 90 seconds.

What You Need Before You Start

Three pieces of information drive the whole form. Get any of them wrong by a single digit and the deposit bounces or lands in someone else’s account.

  • The routing number: 063114030. This nine-digit number identifies SouthState within the ACH network and applies regardless of which state your account was opened in.1SouthState Bank. Need a Little Help?
  • Your account number, which varies in length. On a paper check, the routing number prints on the bottom left and the account number sits in the center.2U.S. Bank. U.S. Bank Routing Number
  • The account type: checking or savings. Payroll systems need this to code the ACH transaction.

No paper checks? Log into online or mobile banking. Your routing and account numbers appear inside the account information section. Some employers accept a screenshot from online banking in place of a voided check; ask payroll before submitting.

Filling Out the Paper Form

The official authorization form is a single-page PDF on SouthState’s website, and branches keep printed copies on hand.3SouthState Bank. Direct Deposit Form

Personal and Employer Information

Enter your full legal name, address, and the name of the company or agency paying you. Some versions of the form also ask for an employee ID or Social Security number so payroll can match the authorization to your file. Use your name exactly as it appears on your pay stub. Nicknames and abbreviations slow processing.

Banking Details and Deposit Amount

Write in 063114030 as the routing number, add your full account number, and check either checking or savings. Then decide how much of each paycheck goes to SouthState. You have two options: your full net pay, or a fixed dollar amount. A fixed amount is how you split a paycheck between SouthState and another bank; the remainder flows to your employer’s default account. Not every employer supports split deposits, so confirm with payroll before entering a partial amount.

Signature

Sign and date the bottom. Your signature authorizes SouthState and your employer’s payroll processor to move electronic credits into your account. That authorization stays in force until you cancel in writing with reasonable notice.4ADP. Employee Direct Deposit Banking Authorization Form If you close the SouthState account or move to a different bank, submit a new form. Don’t rely on the old one quietly expiring.

Using ClickSWITCH Instead

ClickSWITCH is a free tool inside SouthState’s online and mobile banking.5SouthState Bank. SouthState Bank Online and Mobile Banking Agreement It handles two situations: moving an existing direct deposit from another bank into SouthState, and starting a new one from scratch.

Log in, open the Account Services tab, and click Direct Deposit Switch. The system pre-fills your SouthState routing and account numbers, then asks for the payer’s company name, mailing address, and phone number. A submission takes under 90 seconds, and once the paying company processes the change, deposits usually move over within 5 to 15 business days.6SouthState Bank. Direct Deposit Switch You can also split incoming deposits among multiple SouthState accounts from the same dashboard.

ClickSWITCH is built for standard employer payroll. Federal agencies handle their own enrollment: Social Security uses the my Social Security portal or a phone call to the SSA, and VA benefits go through eBenefits or VA.gov. The SouthState form and ClickSWITCH don’t reach those agencies.

Where to Submit

Give the completed paper form to your employer’s payroll or HR department. Not to SouthState. The bank only receives the deposit; the employer initiates it. Keep a signed copy for yourself. If money goes missing later, proof of what you submitted and when saves a lot of back-and-forth.

When the First Deposit Will Arrive

Most payroll systems send a prenote before the first live deposit lands. A prenote is a zero-dollar test transaction that verifies your routing and account numbers match an active account, and it typically clears in about three business days.7Modern Treasury. What Is an ACH Prenote? After that, your next scheduled payday should produce a real deposit.

In practice, plan on one to two pay cycles from the day you turn in the form. You’ll usually still get a paper check during that gap. Cash it. If nothing electronic has posted after two full pay cycles, call your employer’s payroll department first. The usual causes are a transposed account digit, a retired routing number, or a form sitting unread in someone’s inbox.

Watch Out for Old Routing Numbers

SouthState has absorbed more than a dozen banks over the years, including CenterState Bank in 2020, Atlantic Capital Bancshares in 2022, and Independent Bank Group in early 2025.8SouthState Bank Corporation. Mergers and Acquisitions If your account originated at one of those legacy banks, the old routing number may still work for a while, but any new direct deposit enrollment should use 063114030. Retired routing numbers are one of the most common reasons a first deposit fails.

What Payments You Can Route This Way

Anything that moves through ACH can land in a SouthState account: employer payroll, Social Security retirement and disability payments, Supplemental Security Income, VA benefits, federal pensions, and private retirement or annuity payouts. Federal payments travel through ACH under Treasury Department rules.9eCFR. 31 CFR 210.2 – Definitions IRS tax refunds work the same way; enter your SouthState routing and account numbers on your return.

If a Deposit Posts Wrong

Once direct deposit is running, Regulation E gives you specific rights. If an unauthorized or incorrect electronic transfer shows up, you have 60 days from the date the statement was sent to notify SouthState. Report within that window and the bank must investigate within 10 business days. It can extend the review to 45 calendar days, but only if it provisionally credits your account within the first 10 business days.10Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Section 1005.11 – Procedures for Resolving Errors

Miss the 60-day window and you may be liable for further unauthorized transfers that happen afterward. Check your account after every expected payday, especially during the first few cycles, and turn on transaction alerts in the mobile app so you know the moment a deposit posts or fails to.
