Roblox Charge on Google Play: Refund Steps and Purchase Locks

A Google Roblox charge on your statement is a Robux purchase or a Roblox subscription that was billed through your Google Play account. It usually shows up as “GOOGLE*” followed by an app name and transaction number, as “Roblox,” or as “Xsolla*Roblox” if it ran through Roblox’s third-party processor.1Roblox Support. Unauthorized Charges and Refund Requests Most of these charges come from a child buying Robux on a shared device or from a subscription that quietly kept renewing after the player moved on.

Find the Transaction ID First

Before you contact anyone, get the GPA number. Every Google Play transaction has a unique ID that starts with “GPA.” followed by a string of digits. You can find it at pay.google.com by tapping the specific purchase, or in the confirmation email Google sent after the charge.2Google Play Community. How Do I Find a Transaction ID Write it down. You’ll need it for every step that follows.

If the charge went through Google Family, look in the family manager’s order history rather than the child’s account. That’s also where you’ll spot a recurring subscription if one is quietly renewing each month.

Do Not Call Your Bank First

The instinct is to dispute the charge with your card issuer right away. Don’t. Roblox’s policy requires you to contact its Customer Support before filing any dispute with your payment provider, and once a chargeback is in progress through your bank, Roblox says it can no longer issue a refund because the bank’s dispute process takes over.1Roblox Support. Unauthorized Charges and Refund Requests

There’s a second reason to hold off. Roblox treats chargebacks as abusive payments and frequently bans the account linked to the disputed purchases. Appeals after a chargeback-triggered ban are routinely denied. If the account belongs to a child with years of progress, items, and friends, a bank dispute can wipe all of it out. The right order is Roblox first, Google Play second, bank last.

Ask Roblox for the Refund

When you contact Roblox Customer Support about unauthorized charges, have this ready:

  • Every charge you’re disputing, with the date and dollar amount of each.
  • The name on the card or PayPal account that was charged.
  • The last four digits of the card, or the PayPal email address.
  • The GPA transaction ID for each purchase.
  • The Roblox username that made the purchases, if you know it.

Roblox’s billing team reviews the request and decides which charges qualify. There’s no published deadline, but reporting sooner strengthens the case. One important limit: Roblox states that Premium membership renewals are non-refundable, so a subscription you forgot to cancel before its renewal date is unlikely to be reversed by Roblox directly. The same logic applies to the newer Roblox Plus subscription, which replaced Premium and renews monthly at $4.99 until canceled.3Roblox Support. Roblox Plus4Roblox Support. Roblox Premium Membership

Ask Google Play for the Refund

If Roblox won’t refund the charge, or if the purchase was clearly unauthorized, Google Play has its own process. You can report unauthorized transactions within 120 days of the charge date.

  • Sign in at play.google.com with the Google account that was charged.
  • Click your profile picture, then “Payments & subscriptions,” then “Budget & order history.”
  • Find the Roblox transaction and click “Report a problem.”
  • Pick the reason that fits, such as an unauthorized purchase or a purchase made by a child.
  • Complete the form, say clearly that you want a refund, and submit.

Google usually responds within one business day, and decisions can take up to four. You’ll get the answer by email at the address tied to the Google account.5Google Play Help. Request a Refund on Google Play

If Google Denies the Refund

Read the rejection email for the specific reason: expired window, content already consumed, or a policy exclusion. You can go back to Google Play support with a more detailed appeal that includes the GPA transaction ID, purchase date, amount, and a clear explanation of why the charge was unauthorized. Ask for a manual review and a case number, and keep copies of every message in case the exchange runs long.

Require Verification on Google Play

Google Play can require a password or a fingerprint or face scan before every purchase. Open the Google Play app, tap your profile picture, then “Payments & subscriptions,” then “Purchase verification,” and set the frequency to “Always.” With biometric verification on, someone who knows the account password still can’t complete a purchase without your fingerprint or face.6Google Play Help. Turn On Family Link Approvals

If your child has a Google account managed through Family Link, you can require your approval before they download or buy anything. Go to g.co/yourfamily, select your child, click “Controls on Google Play,” and under “Purchase & download approvals,” choose “All content.” A request to buy Robux then pings you for approval before any charge is placed.8Google Help. Set a Roblox Spending Limit and PIN

Inside Roblox, parents can set a monthly spending limit on a child’s account after linking a parent account. Once the child hits the cap, Roblox blocks further purchases for the rest of the month.9Roblox Support. Monthly Spending Limits and Notifications FAQ Add a four-digit PIN too. Log into the account, go to Settings, open the Parental Controls tab, toggle the PIN on, and create your code. With the PIN active, the spending limit, password, email, and privacy controls can’t be changed without it.10Roblox Support. How Do I Add, Change, or Remove a PIN
