Platinumlist Charge Explained: Fees, Refunds, and Disputes

A Platinumlist charge on a credit card is a payment for event tickets bought through Platinumlist, a Dubai-based ticketing platform that sells tickets for concerts, sports, tourist attractions, and other live events across the Middle East. It may show up under the company’s legal name, P L P Events L.L.C., or simply as “Platinumlist.” The total usually bundles the ticket price with service and processing fees, and sometimes an optional add-on called Refund Guarantee that some buyers say they were charged for without realizing they had selected it.

What Makes Up the Total

The charge on your statement is rarely just the face value of the ticket. Platinumlist’s terms describe service fees and processing fees as separate line items, though the exact amounts aren’t published in the terms.1Platinumlist. Terms and Conditions Both are non-refundable except when the event is outright cancelled or the service was never delivered.

The line item that surprises people most is the Refund Guarantee. Platinumlist describes it as a “voluntary service, not an insurance product” that covers certain unforeseen circumstances such as medical emergencies, a family member’s death, or organizer insolvency. The fee itself is non-refundable under any circumstances, even if you successfully use the guarantee. It has to be selected at checkout and cannot be added later.2Platinumlist. App store reviewers have repeatedly said the Refund Guarantee appeared on their receipts without their knowledge. A December 2024 Apple App Store reviewer called the checkout “deceptive” and said a “refund guarantee fee” was “sneakily added without consent” and “buried at the bottom of the page to avoid detection,” and reported paying for it twice without noticing.3Apple App Store. Buyers in some countries may also see a small extra fee for receiving tickets by SMS link.

If You Don’t Recognize the Charge at All

If no one in your household bought event tickets, treat the charge as possibly fraudulent. Platinumlist says it takes down “dozens of fake sites and impersonation accounts every month.”4Khaleej Times. Fake Tickets Scams: Residents Warned Common scam patterns include lookalike domains registered shortly before major events, fake payment portals, and social media ads offering steep discounts on sold-out shows. CEO Cosmin Ivan has said some scam sites manipulate the one-time passcode step to authorize a larger charge than what appears on the screen, so the checkout screen should be scrutinized before any OTP is entered.

The official domain is platinumlist.net. URLs with extra words or extensions like “.site” or “.vip” should be treated as suspicious. Platinumlist’s own terms add that tickets bought on a lost or stolen credit card are cancelled without a refund,5Platinumlist. If You Recognize the Charge but Want a Refund

Tickets are non-refundable by default. Refunds are only available in specific situations:1Platinumlist. Terms and Conditions

  • The event is cancelled by the organizer.
  • The main artist cancels or fails to perform.
  • The performance is significantly shorter than advertised.
  • The event is rescheduled to a different date.
  • The start or end time shifts by four or more hours.
  • The venue changes to a location at least 40 kilometers away, or to one of significantly lower quality.

You can submit through WhatsApp at +971 501 408 768, through the webchat at helpcenter.platinumlist.net, or by email to helpcenter@platinumlist.net with the subject line “Refund Request.” Include the event name and date, the transaction and ticket numbers, and your full name, email, and phone number.6Platinumlist. How to Return

If the request is approved, Platinumlist may keep up to five percent of the ticket value for administration and bank charges, and service and processing fees are not returned.

Watch the Wallet

Approved refunds are often credited to a Platinumlist “Wallet,” a closed-loop balance inside the platform, rather than sent back to your card. You can ask for the refund to go to your original payment method, but only before the money lands in the Wallet. Once it’s there, it cannot be transferred back to your card.2Platinumlist. Payment Methods Say clearly, in your first written request, that you want the refund returned to the original card.

If You Bought the Refund Guarantee

Claims under the Refund Guarantee use a separate process and are supposed to be handled within 21 working days. You’ll need the order number, booking confirmation, valid ID, and official supporting documents such as a medical certificate or police report. Refunds under the guarantee are capped at USD 600 per order unless the event was cancelled by the organizer.2Platinumlist. Refund Guarantee Terms

Customers have complained that the guarantee doesn’t always deliver. A May 2026 Apple App Store reviewer said they bought the guarantee for VIP tickets to a cancelled Shakira concert and a postponed John Legend concert in Doha, then couldn’t get the promised refund, calling the guarantee “an extra fee designed to take more money from customers without providing the protection promised.”8Apple App Store.
