A “PerfectBody” charge on your credit card is a recurring monthly subscription fee from PerfectBody.me, a meal-planning and diet app, and it will keep hitting your card until you cancel it through the same channel you signed up on.1Ramp. Perfectbody.Me Charge The charge usually shows up on statements as “perfectbody.me” or “PERFECTBODY.ME.” Many people see it after taking a quiz, entering card details for what looked like a one-time plan, or starting a free trial, and don’t realize they enrolled in auto-renewing billing until weeks later.2Pissed Consumer. Getting a Refund From PerfectBody
PerfectBody’s own refund policy is narrow. The company’s terms state that fees for digital content and services are generally non-refundable, and that refunds are offered only when a product is proven to be “not as described” or “faulty.” To request one, you have to email hello@perfectbody.me within 30 days of purchase with “detailed information proving Company’s product fault (with visual proof attached).” The terms also say users waive their statutory right of withdrawal once digital content has been delivered.3PerfectBody. Disputing the Charge With Your Bank
If the company won’t refund you, your card issuer is the next route. Under the Fair Credit Billing Act, you can dispute a billing error with your credit card company in writing. The letter has to go to the card issuer’s billing-inquiry address within 60 days of the statement date on which the charge first appeared, and should include your name, account number, the amount and date of the charge, and why you are disputing it. Send it by certified mail and keep a copy.5FTC. Using Credit Cards and Disputing Charges
After you file, the card issuer has to acknowledge the dispute within 30 days and resolve it within 90 days. You don’t have to pay the disputed amount while the investigation runs, and the issuer can’t report it as delinquent to the credit bureaus during that time.5FTC. Using Credit Cards and Disputing Charges
If more than 60 days have passed since the statement, you may still have another option. You can assert “claims and defenses” against the charge, provided you first tried to resolve the issue with the merchant and the charge is more than $50. The deadline here is one year from the statement date. When you contact your card issuer, say explicitly that you are asserting “claims and defenses,” because representatives sometimes apply only the 60-day billing-error deadline by default.6California Attorney General. Why So Many People Get Charged by Surprise
PerfectBody uses a negative-option subscription model: after an initial sign-up or trial, the card on file is billed on a recurring basis until the user actively cancels before the next billing cycle.3PerfectBody. General Conditions Reviewers on the Apple App Store and consumer complaint sites describe sign-up flows that obscure the subscription terms and cancellation processes that are hard to navigate, with one reviewer saying they had to reissue their credit card to stop the billing.8Apple App Store. Federal rules on this kind of billing have tightened. The FTC finalized its “Click to Cancel” rule in October 2024, with most provisions taking effect 180 days after Federal Register publication. The rule requires that cancelling a subscription be at least as easy as signing up, that consumers who subscribe through an app or website be able to cancel through the same channel without a phone call, and that businesses clearly disclose cost, renewal intervals, and cancellation deadlines before collecting payment and obtain express informed consent to recurring charges. Violations can carry civil penalties of up to $51,744 per violation.9FTC. Federal Trade Commission Announces Final Click-to-Cancel Rule10FTC.
