A Peacock charge on your credit card is a recurring payment for Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming service. It runs $7.99 to $16.99 per month, or $79.99 to $169.99 per year for annual plans, plus sales tax in most states.1Peacock. How Much Does a Peacock Subscription Cost? If the charge caught you off guard, it’s usually one of four things: an annual renewal you forgot about, a promotional rate that expired, a bundle you no longer use, or someone else in the household who signed up on a shared device.
How Peacock Shows Up on a Statement
The descriptor on your statement depends on how the subscription was set up. If you signed up on Peacock’s website with a card, the line item usually reads PEACOCK, PEACOCK TV, PEACOCKTV, or NBCUNIVERSAL PEACOCK. Variations like PEACOCK PREMIUM and PEACOCK STREAMING also show up.
If you subscribed through a device or app store, the billing descriptor belongs to that platform, not Peacock. Apple subscriptions post as APPLE.COM/BILL. Google Play appears as GOOGLE PEACOCK. Roku bills as ROKU. Amazon reads as AMAZON DIGITAL. PayPal-funded subscriptions often show as PAYPAL PEACOCK.
The third-party lines cause most of the confusion. An APPLE.COM/BILL charge could be any one of a dozen subscriptions, so a Peacock renewal through Apple looks like a mystery until you open your subscription list on the device.
Why the Charge Appeared Now
Annual renewals are the most common surprise. If you signed up on the yearly plan, you paid once and won’t see another charge for 12 months. When $79.99, $109.99, or $169.99 lands on your card a year later, it doesn’t ring a bell. Search your email for a Peacock renewal notice around the date of the charge.
Expired promotions are the second common cause. Peacock runs discounts as low as $2.99 per month for six months, and when the promo window closes, the system bills the full price on the next cycle.1Peacock. How Much Does a Peacock Subscription Cost? Going from $2.99 to $10.99 in a single month feels like an error even when it isn’t.
Bundles are the third. Several services include Peacock Premium at no extra charge, so you may have activated it through one of them and forgotten. Xfinity Diamond and Platinum members, subscribers to Sports & News TV, NOW TV, NOW TV Latino, and Xfinity internet plans at Gig speeds or faster all get Peacock Premium included.2Xfinity. How to Get Peacock Premium With Xfinity Walmart+ members can choose Peacock Premium or Paramount+ Essential from the benefits hub.3Walmart. Walmart+ Streaming Benefits Instacart+ includes Peacock Premium as a perk. If you cancel the parent service, Peacock often converts to a standalone paid subscription rather than shutting off, which is why the charge can outlast the bundle you signed up for.
Shared households explain many of the rest. A family member may have subscribed on a Roku, Apple TV, or game console using a saved payment method, and the billing descriptor may not clearly say Peacock.
How to Stop the Charge
Peacock can only cancel subscriptions it bills for directly. If a third party bills you, only that third party can stop the charge. Before you do anything else, log in at peacocktv.com and open your account page to see which company is listed as the biller.
If Peacock Bills You Directly

How Do I Change My Peacock Plan During the flow, Peacock frequently offers a retention discount, sometimes around $2.99 per month for six months. If price is the issue, look at the offer before you finalize. Access continues through the end of the current billing cycle.
If a Third Party Bills You

Can You Get a Refund
Peacock charges are generally non-refundable. The company can issue a refund at its discretion, but there is no automatic proration when you cancel mid-cycle.6Peacock. What Is Peacock’s Refund Policy? To ask for one, contact Peacock support through the help center. No timeframes or approval odds are published.
If your subscription is billed through Apple, Google, Amazon, or Roku, the refund request goes to that platform instead. Each has its own policy. Apple’s Report a Problem tool for recent purchases sometimes moves faster than a request through the streaming service itself.
If You Never Subscribed
Start by ruling out an account you forgot. Log in at peacocktv.com using every email address you use, including old ones. It’s common to find an account created on a device that saved your card automatically. Then check the subscription lists on any Apple, Google, Amazon, or Roku account tied to your card, since a third-party descriptor may be hiding a Peacock subscription you didn’t recognize.
If none of that explains the charge, contact Peacock support before your bank. Going through the merchant usually resolves things faster, and Peacock can look up any account tied to your payment method.
When that doesn’t work, federal law gives you a formal route. Under the Fair Credit Billing Act, your liability for an unauthorized credit card charge is capped at $50. Write to your card issuer at the address it designates for billing inquiries, and include your name, account number, and a description of the charge. Your letter has to reach the issuer within 60 days of the statement that first showed the error. The issuer then has 30 days to acknowledge the dispute and up to 90 days to resolve it, and you can withhold payment on the disputed amount while the investigation is open.7Federal Trade Commission. Using Credit Cards and Disputing Charges
Debit card charges follow a different federal law with different timelines and caps, so if the Peacock charge hit a debit card, ask your bank about its dispute process specifically.
