Moonshot AI Pte Ltd Charge: What It Is, How to Cancel, and Refunds

A charge from Moonshot AI Pte Ltd on your credit or debit card statement is a payment to the Singapore-registered billing entity for Moonshot AI, the Beijing-founded company behind the Kimi chatbot. It almost always reflects one of three things: a Kimi paid membership, a prepaid deposit on the Kimi API developer platform, or use of the Kimi Claw AI agent. Moonshot AI Pte Ltd was incorporated on July 6, 2023, and is registered at 91 Bencoolen Street, Sunshine Plaza, Singapore, with software and application development as its primary business activity.1CompaniesHouse.sg. Moonshot AI Pte Ltd Its privacy policy names it as the entity that provides the Kimi OpenPlatform services, including the Kimi API Platform.2Kimi OpenPlatform. Privacy Policy

Which Moonshot Product You Paid For

Three products generate charges under this billing name.

  • A Kimi paid membership. This is the consumer AI assistant subscription, sold in tiers such as the “Allegretto” plan at $39 per month. Memberships can auto-renew if you opted in when you signed up.3Kimi. Kimi Privacy Policy
  • A Kimi API platform deposit. This is a prepaid balance on the developer platform used to call Moonshot’s large language models. The minimum deposit is $1, and Visa, Mastercard, and UnionPay are accepted. The API runs on a strictly prepaid model with no automatic recurring charges; when the balance hits zero, the service stops.4Kimi OpenPlatform. Pricing FAQ5Moonshot AI Developer Forum. • Kimi Claw or OpenClaw. Kimi Claw is a cloud-hosted AI agent that runs automated tasks, and access requires an Allegretto membership or higher. OpenClaw is a free local install, but it consumes Kimi API credits when connected to Moonshot’s models, which draws down your platform balance.6Codecademy. The membership is the usual source of a surprise charge, because it renews on its own. The API side won’t charge you unless you actively add funds.

Why the Charge Looks Unfamiliar

Moonshot’s own help pages point to a few common explanations. You may have an active auto-renewing subscription you forgot about, or a free trial may have converted to paid because you didn’t cancel before it ended.8Kimi. Membership Payment Issues If you signed up through a phone, the charge may actually be flowing through Apple ID or Google Play, which makes it harder to tie back to Moonshot. And what looks like a completed charge can sometimes be a temporary authorization hold.

The descriptor doesn’t help either. Most people know the product as Kimi, not as an unfamiliar Singapore company name on their statement.

How to Stop Future Charges

Where you cancel depends on where you signed up. If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, you have to cancel through that store’s subscription management, not through Kimi. If you paid Moonshot directly, auto-renewal is managed inside your Kimi account settings.

For direct billing questions or cancellation help with a Kimi membership, Moonshot directs users to email membership@moonshot.ai.8Kimi. Getting a Refund From Moonshot AI

Moonshot’s terms treat fees as non-refundable. The terms state that “all payments are final and non-refundable” unless required by applicable law or granted by the company at its discretion.9Moonshot AI Developer Forum. Terms of Service

There is no self-service refund button. You have to email support and ask. The deadline matters: any billing dispute must be raised in writing within 30 days of the charge, and after that window the charge is treated as accepted under the terms of service.10Kimi OpenPlatform. Disputing the Charge With Your Bank or App Store

If Moonshot won’t resolve it, you can dispute the charge through the payment channel that took the money.

For a U.S. credit card charge, the Fair Credit Billing Act gives you the right to dispute in writing to the card issuer’s billing inquiry address within 60 days of the first statement showing the charge. The issuer must acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and resolve it within 90 days, and the disputed amount cannot be reported as delinquent while it is under review. Federal law caps your liability for unauthorized credit card charges at $50.11Federal Trade Commission. Using Credit Cards and Disputing Charges

If the subscription went through Google Play, you can file a claim through Google’s unauthorized transactions form, provided the transaction happened within the last four months.12Google Payments. Unauthorized Transactions

If you are in Singapore, you have local options as well. The Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) runs dispute resolution services, including an assisted scheme where CASE drafts a letter on your behalf for a small fee. Under Singapore’s Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act, concealing the recurring nature of charges or making cancellation unreasonably difficult can be an unfair practice, and the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS) has enforcement authority over such practices.13CCCS. Guidelines on Price Transparency Singapore’s opt-out regulations also provide that consumers are not required to pay for unsolicited services if the supplier failed to give proper advance notice before a free trial converted to a paid subscription.14CASE.
