UPS on Juneteenth
UPS pickup and delivery run as usual, and UPS Store locations stay open.8UPS. Amazon, Walmart, and App-Based Delivery
Grocery platforms and app-based services like DoorDash and Instacart set their own schedules. Their drivers aren’t federal employees and their operations don’t depend on USPS, so they generally run as usual on Juneteenth.
Amazon is a hybrid. Packages moving through Amazon’s own driver network arrive normally. Amazon shipments that would otherwise be handed off to USPS still reach many customers on Juneteenth because Amazon pre-positions them at USPS holiday hub sites for same-day delivery.2USPS. When June 19 Falls on a Weekend
In 2026, June 19 is a Friday, so the holiday lands on its actual date. In years when it falls on a weekend, the federal observance shifts. Because Juneteenth is a legal public holiday, court filing deadlines and tax due dates that would land on June 19 automatically move to the next business day.
Federal courts apply Rule 6 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, which pushes any deadline falling on a legal holiday to the next day that isn’t a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday.
