How to Get Your Home Depot W-2 Form: Online, Mail, and Corrections

To get your Home Depot W-2 form, log in to the Workday-based Self Service system through myTHDHR if you’re a current associate, or use the former-associate portal at wdinactiveemailreset.extapps.homedepot.com/logon if you’ve left the company. Home Depot must furnish the form by January 31, and electronic copies typically appear in the portal a few weeks earlier. If you haven’t consented to electronic delivery, a paper copy will be mailed to the address on file.

Online Access for Current Associates

Sign in to the myTHDHR portal or go directly to Workday with your associate credentials. Open the Pay or Tax section, pick the tax year, and choose the option to view or download the form. The system produces a PDF you can print or save.

One step trips people up. IRS rules require your affirmative consent before an employer can deliver the W-2 electronically instead of on paper.1Internal Revenue Service. General Instructions for Forms W-2 and W-3 Home Depot collects that consent inside your Workday profile settings. Skip it and the electronic version won’t appear; you’ll get a paper copy in the mail instead.

If the portal won’t load your form or the download fails, call the Home Depot HR Service Center at 1-866-698-4347 (1-866-myTHDHR) or email myTHDHR@homedepot.com. The center is staffed Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern.2myTHDHR. Self Service

Access for Former Associates

If you no longer have active credentials, Home Depot keeps a separate portal for former employees. Go to wdinactiveemailreset.extapps.homedepot.com/logon and verify your identity with your last name, date of birth, and the last four digits of your Social Security number.3The Home Depot. Former Associates Access to Employee Self Service You’ll also complete a CAPTCHA. Once inside, you can view and download W-2s from the years you worked there.

If the portal doesn’t have the year you need, call the HR Service Center at 1-866-698-4347. As a backup, you can request a wage and income transcript directly from the IRS. The transcript shows the same data Home Depot reported, though the format differs from an actual W-2.

Getting the Form by Mail

If you haven’t opted into electronic delivery, Home Depot mails your W-2 to the residential address on file in payroll as of late December or early January, with paper copies going out during the final week of January. Update your address in Self Service well before that mailing window; a change made in February won’t reroute the current year’s form.2myTHDHR. If Your W-2 Never Arrives

Start with Home Depot. An outdated address or missing electronic consent is usually the reason, and either can be fixed quickly through the HR Service Center. If the company can’t resolve it, the IRS has a defined escalation path.

  • Call the IRS at 800-829-1040. Have Home Depot’s name and address ready, along with your own name, address, and Social Security number. The IRS will contact the employer and request that the form be sent within ten days.4Internal Revenue Service. W-2 – Additional, Incorrect, Lost, Non-Receipt, Omitted
  • File with Form 4852 if you can’t wait. Form 4852 is an IRS-approved substitute for the W-2. You estimate your wages, Social Security and Medicare wages, and all taxes withheld, using your final pay stub from the year as the source. The form also asks what steps you took to obtain the real W-2.5Internal Revenue Service. About Form 4852, Substitute for Form W-2
  • Amend later if needed. If the real W-2 arrives after you filed with Form 4852 and the numbers differ, file Form 1040-X to correct your return.

Filing with Form 4852 is legitimate but slower. The IRS verifies the estimated figures against employer records, which adds time to processing, especially for refunds.

Requesting a Corrected W-2

If the form arrives with a wrong Social Security number, an incorrect wage figure, or missing state tax information, contact the HR Service Center at 1-866-698-4347 as soon as you spot the error. Active associates can also email myTHDHR@homedepot.com or submit an internal HR ticket.6The Home Depot. Pay and Taxes

Home Depot will issue a Form W-2c, the Corrected Wage and Tax Statement, showing both the original and the corrected figures.7Internal Revenue Service. About Form W-2 C, Corrected Wage and Tax Statements If you already filed using the incorrect numbers and the corrected amounts change your tax liability, file an amended return on Form 1040-X.

If the correction hasn’t been issued by the end of February, the IRS can push it through. Call 800-829-1040 or visit a Taxpayer Assistance Center and ask the IRS to send Home Depot a letter demanding the corrected form within ten days.4Internal Revenue Service. Watch for Phishing During Tax Season

W-2 data is a prime target for scammers. The IRS warns that fraudulent messages arrive with alarming language, fake IRS branding, and QR codes that lead to sites asking you to “verify” your account or enter your Social Security number.8Internal Revenue Service. Dirty Dozen Tax Scams for 2026

Home Depot will not email your W-2 as an attachment or ask you to click a link in a text message to retrieve tax forms. Reach the form only by typing the Workday portal or the former-associate site URL yourself. If a message looks questionable, call the HR Service Center at 1-866-698-4347 rather than any number or link the message provides.
