Current and former Dollar Tree and Family Dollar associates can get a Dollar Tree W-2 online through the Doculivery portal at my.doculivery.com/dollartree. The electronic copy is usually posted before the paper form is mailed, and it counts as a valid tax document you can hand to a preparer or upload into tax software.
Getting Your W-2 Through Doculivery
Doculivery is where Dollar Tree posts electronic W-2s each year. If you opted into paperless delivery in a prior year, your form appears there as soon as payroll uploads tax documents. If you didn’t opt in, the portal still typically holds a viewable copy alongside the mailed version.
To log in, you need your Employee ID, which is the identifier printed on your pay stubs and used by the timekeeping system. It is not your Social Security number. The portal also asks for your date of birth and the last four digits of your Social Security number to verify identity. Current associates can pull the Employee ID from the company’s payroll system. If you no longer work at Dollar Tree, check an old pay stub or a direct-deposit record.
Once you’re in, look for a section along the lines of “Pay and Tax Information” or “Tax Statements,” select the year you need, and save it as a PDF or print it. Dollar Tree’s Associate Information Center on the company website also carries the links for pay stubs, address changes, and electronic W-2 enrollment. Save the file somewhere private, and avoid opening the portal on a shared or public computer.
When Your W-2 Should Arrive
Federal law requires employers to furnish W-2 forms by January 31. Because January 31, 2026, is a Saturday, the deadline shifts to the next business day, Monday, February 2, 2026.1Internal Revenue Service. Employment Tax Due Dates The deadline covers both mailing a paper copy and making an electronic version available. The digital version in Doculivery often shows up several days ahead of the mailed one.
Requesting a Duplicate or a Mailed Copy
If you can’t get into the portal and no paper form has arrived, call Dollar Tree’s HR support line at 1-855-245-7994. It’s open weekdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern. Have your Employee ID, date of birth, and Social Security number ready to verify identity. The representative can confirm the mailing address on file and request a reprint. Reprinted forms generally take one to two weeks to arrive.
Give the mail a reasonable window before you call. A form postmarked on the deadline can take a week or more to land in your mailbox, and longer if it was routed to an old address. If you moved during the tax year, update your address in the associate portal or through HR as soon as you can.
If the W-2 Still Doesn’t Show Up
If February ends and you still have no W-2 despite contacting Dollar Tree, the IRS can step in. Call the IRS at 800-829-1040 or visit a Taxpayer Assistance Center to file a formal W-2 complaint. Have your name, address, ZIP code, Social Security number, and Dollar Tree’s full name and address ready when you call.2Internal Revenue Service. If April is approaching and the form still hasn’t arrived, you can file using IRS Form 4852, Substitute for Form W-2. The form asks you to estimate wages and withholdings from the best information you have, usually your final pay stub of the year.3Internal Revenue Service. About Form 4852, Substitute for Form W-2, Wage and Tax Statement Treat Form 4852 as a last resort after a genuine effort to get the real W-2. If the actual form arrives later with different numbers, file an amended return on Form 1040-X.
Checking for Errors
Look over every box as soon as you receive the form. Common mistakes include a misspelled name, a wrong Social Security number, or wages that don’t match your records. Report anything that looks off to Dollar Tree’s payroll department or your store manager right away. A wrong Social Security number is the most urgent one to catch, because the IRS and SSA may not be able to match your return to your earnings record.

Watch Out for Fake W-2 Emails
Retail workers are frequent targets of phishing schemes at tax time. Scammers send emails or texts that look like Dollar Tree communications and ask you to “verify” your W-2 by entering your Social Security number, login credentials, or bank information. Fake W-2 scams can lead to fraudulent returns filed in your name, delayed refunds, and audits.6Internal Revenue Service. Recognize Tax Scams and Fraud
Red flags: urgent language threatening arrest or demanding payment, misspelled URLs that look close to official sites, and requests for information Dollar Tree or the IRS would never ask for by email. If you think your W-2 information has been stolen, report it through the IRS fraud page at irs.gov and consider placing a fraud alert on your credit file.
Making Sense of Box 12
Most of the W-2 is straightforward. Box 1 shows taxable wages, Box 2 shows federal income tax withheld, and Boxes 3 through 6 cover Social Security and Medicare. The one that trips people up is Box 12, which uses letter codes for special categories of pay and benefits. A few you may see:
- Code D: elective deferrals to a 401(k) plan. If you contributed to Dollar Tree’s retirement plan through paycheck deductions, the total shows up here.
- Code DD: the cost of employer-sponsored health coverage. This figure is informational, not taxable, and doesn’t get reported separately on your return.7Internal Revenue Service. Reporting Employer-Provided Health Coverage on Form W-2
- Code W: employer and employee contributions to a Health Savings Account, if you had an HSA through Dollar Tree’s benefits.
If a code you don’t recognize appears, the IRS instructions for Forms W-2 and W-3 include the full reference list.
How Long to Keep It
The IRS recommends keeping tax records, W-2s included, for at least three years from the date you filed the return, because that’s the standard window for the IRS to assess additional tax.8Internal Revenue Service. Topic No. 305, Recordkeeping Four years covers that window with a cushion. Save a digital copy alongside your filed return so it’s all in one place. Old W-2s also work as proof of earnings for loan applications, apartment leases, and Social Security benefit calculations later on, so keeping them longer often pays off.
