Robinhood IRA forms are not in the Consolidated 1099 and arrive on their own schedule.3Robinhood. How to Read Your 1099 If you took a distribution or did a Roth conversion, your Form 1099-R is available by February 2, 2026. Form 5498, which reports contributions and account value, comes later, by June 1, 2026.5Robinhood. How to Import Your 1099 to a Tax Provider
Not every account gets a 1099. Robinhood won’t issue one if all of the following are true for the year: you received less than $10 in dividends or interest, you didn’t sell any stocks, crypto, ETFs, or options, and you received less than $600 in miscellaneous income. You also won’t get one if you certified as a non-U.S. resident on Form W-8BEN or are a resident of Puerto Rico.6Robinhood. Tax Documents FAQ You’re still responsible for reporting taxable income whether or not a form is generated.
Expect the possibility of a corrected 1099 after the first release. The usual triggers are a company reclassifying its dividends, late cost basis updates, or a change to your personal information.6Robinhood. How to Download Your 1099 From the App or Website
The path is the same in both places:

- Select the form you want to view or download.
Your Consolidated 1099 saves as a PDF that you can store on your device, email to yourself, or print.6Robinhood. Importing Your Robinhood 1099 Into TurboTax or H&R Block
The major tax platforms can pull your Robinhood data electronically, which is faster and more accurate than typing it in. The import does not use your Robinhood login. You enter two numbers taken from the cover page of your Consolidated 1099 PDF:
- Master account number: a 9-digit number at the top right of the cover page.
- Document ID: an 11-digit alphanumeric ID at the top right of the cover page. Enter it without spaces.
In your tax software, go to the investment income or brokerage section, pick “Robinhood Markets” as the financial institution, and enter the two numbers to authorize the import.5Robinhood. How to Import Your 1099 to a Tax Provider Once the data loads, check the imported totals against the PDF to make sure nothing was dropped.
When the Import Won’t Carry Everything
A few things don’t flow in automatically. Section 1256 contract information on your 1099-B (common with futures and some options) won’t transfer into TurboTax or H&R Block, and you’ll need to type it in.5Robinhood. How to Import Your 1099 to a Tax Provider There are also transaction caps that vary by software: if you have more than 10,000 total transactions or more than 4,000 uncovered transactions, the import may fail, and your tax software provider is the right place to go for help.
If your software doesn’t support Robinhood imports, you’ll enter totals by hand for capital gains, dividends, and interest, using the PDF as your source document.
If You Receive a Corrected 1099
A corrected form replaces the original in your Tax Center and is labeled as corrected. If it arrives before you file, use the updated version and move on. If you’ve already filed and the new figures change your tax, file Form 1040-X to amend your return.7Internal Revenue Service. What to Do When a W-2 or Form 1099 Is Missing or Incorrect Form 1040-X can now be filed electronically through most tax software for the current year and the two prior tax years.8Internal Revenue Service. About Form 1040-X, Amended U.S. Individual Income Tax Return
A small correction that doesn’t change what you owe doesn’t necessarily require an amendment. But the IRS’s automated matching system will eventually compare the corrected 1099 Robinhood sent to the agency against what you filed, and a mismatch produces a notice. Filing a 1040-X on your own schedule is easier than responding to that letter.
If Your Forms Are Late
The federal filing deadline for the 2025 tax year is Wednesday, April 15, 2026.9Internal Revenue Service. IRS Opens 2026 Filing Season If your Consolidated 1099 still hasn’t arrived or you’re waiting on a correction, you can file Form 4868 for an automatic six-month extension that pushes your filing deadline to October 15, 2026.10Internal Revenue Service. Form 4868, Application for Automatic Extension of Time to File U.S. Individual Income Tax Return
An extension buys more time to file, not more time to pay. If you expect to owe, estimate the amount and pay it by April 15 to avoid interest and late-payment penalties. The prior year’s 1099 is a reasonable starting point for that estimate.
