To find your Army PCS orders online, log into the Integrated Personnel and Pay System — Army (IPPS-A) and open the “My Orders” tile on the landing page.1Integrated Personnel and Pay System-Army. PCS Season That is the only authoritative source; assignment instructions, RFO emails, and verbal confirmations are not orders. If nothing appears in the tile, the usual reason is that your levy packet has not yet been submitted and processed, and orders cannot be generated until it is.
Where to Click Inside IPPS-A
IPPS-A is the Army’s single HR system for all components, and published orders sit inside your own record. Sign in, then look for the “My Orders” tile on the main dashboard. You can also reach the same information through “My Personnel Action Requests.” Both views let you search by transaction type or filter by date range, which helps when you have multiple sets of orders over a career.
Getting into the system takes a Common Access Card and one of three connections: a government computer on the NIPR network, a government mobile device with VPN turned on, or a personal device configured through Hypori Halo or Azure Virtual Desktop.
Logging In From a Personal Device
Most soldiers checking orders on their own time are not sitting at a NIPR workstation. The Army supports two approved ways to reach IPPS-A from a personal phone, tablet, or laptop: Hypori Halo and Azure Virtual Desktop. Both create a secure virtual workspace, so nothing from the Army network is stored on your device.2The United States Army. BYOD Brings Personal Devices to the Army Network
Hypori Halo
Hypori Halo runs on iOS, Android, and Windows. Setup has four steps: download the Mobile Connect and Hypori client apps, enroll from a CAC-enabled device using the link you’re issued, open Mobile Connect on your personal device and scan the QR code generated during enrollment, then wait one to three business days for the Army BYOD team to build your profile. After that, no CAC is needed to sign in; your identity was verified during enrollment.3Integrated Personnel and Pay System-Army. Hypori and AVD Setup Instructions
Azure Virtual Desktop
Azure Virtual Desktop starts with a one-time sign-up from a NIPR computer or another CAC-capable device. You’ll then receive an onboarding email from the Army 365 AVD team. From there, you can either install the Microsoft Remote Desktop app and add the workspace, or use the AVD web client in a browser. Both paths require your @army.mil credentials and CAC PIN.3Integrated Personnel and Pay System-Army. Hypori and AVD Setup Instructions
Why Your Orders Might Not Be There Yet
Assignment instructions in IPPS-A only mean the Army has told you where you’re going. The orders themselves aren’t generated until you complete the levy process. Under AR 600-8-11, you must view the levy briefing, complete your member elections in IPPS-A, print and sign the required forms, and submit the full levy packet through your S1 within 30 days of your assignment notification date.4U.S. Army. Once your S1 submits the completed packet, orders are typically available for download from IPPS-A within five business days.4U.S. Army. Levy Brief Reassignments
Extra Gates for OCONUS Moves
If you’re PCSing overseas and want family members to accompany you, orders cannot be produced until all overseas travel requirements are met, including family travel screening through the EFMP portal. The overseas EFMP office has up to 30 days to determine whether adequate services exist at the gaining location.5William Beaumont Army Medical Center. Start EFMP paperwork immediately if you know you’ll need it; this one step can add a month or more.
How Far Out Orders Are Supposed to Publish
The Army’s target is 120 days before your report date. For Initial Entry Training soldiers, the window can be as short as 14 days. For enlisted soldiers, the losing S1 or MPD is expected to complete reassignment processing within 30 calendar days of the assignment notification; officers should receive their reassignment briefing and interview within 15 calendar days of the request for orders. Peak PCS season runs May 15 through September 30, and processing times stretch during that window because of volume.
If You Need to Push the Date
Deferments are requested in IPPS-A in 30-day increments, up to 120 days before or after the original report date. They fall into two categories.6U.S. Army Human Resources Command. Processing Requests for Enlisted Assignment Deletion, Deferment, Early Arrival, and Reporting Failures to Gain
- Operational deferments, based on the losing command’s needs — an ongoing deployment, a training cycle, or a critical skill shortage.
- Compassionate deferments, based on serious family problems that can be resolved within the window. Supporting documentation is required: a physician’s statement for medical issues, an attorney’s statement for legal matters, or statements from clergy, social workers, or law enforcement for other circumstances.

Fixing Errors After You Download Them
Read the orders carefully as soon as they publish, especially the entitlements section. Errors there directly affect what you get reimbursed and can hold up household goods shipments and pay actions at your gaining unit.
For orders published after May 1, 2024, IPPS-A allows some items, including entitlement changes, to be amended directly in the system without a formal addendum. Items that still require a formal addendum are listed in IPPS-A’s “Valid PCS Order Addendums” reference document; the system is moving toward allowing all order items to be amended in-system, but that rollout is still underway.7Integrated Personnel and Pay System-Army. Who to Call When Something Is Stuck
Your first stop is your unit S1. They can see the status of your levy packet, confirm whether orders have been generated, and identify what’s holding them up. If S1 can’t resolve it, escalate to the Military Personnel Division. For system-side problems, IPPS-A won’t load, orders aren’t appearing after a completed levy packet, or an amendment function isn’t working, contact the IPPS-A helpdesk at 1-844-474-7772 (1-844-HR-IPPS-A), open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern. One point worth repeating before you act on anything: don’t terminate a lease, schedule household goods, or make any irreversible commitment until you’ve downloaded the actual orders from IPPS-A. Assignment instructions are not orders. The document in the “My Orders” tile is what counts.
