The easyJet complaint form is not one form but three, each on its own page: EU261 compensation for delays and cancellations at easyjet.com/en/claim/EU261, an expense reimbursement form at easyjet.com/en/claim/welfare, and a baggage claim portal at easyjet.claim-baggage.com.1easyJet. easyJet Airline Contact Form2easyJet. easyJet Airline Expense Claim Form3easyJet. Damaged or Delayed Bags and Lost Property Choosing the right one before you start, and having your booking reference, flight number, and receipts ready, is the difference between a claim that moves and one that bounces.
Which Form You Need
Use the EU261 form if your flight arrived more than three hours late, was canceled within 14 days of departure, or you were involuntarily denied boarding.1easyJet. easyJet Airline Contact Form
Use the expense form to reclaim meals, hotel stays, or transport that easyJet should have arranged during a disruption but didn’t. Receipts are required for every item.2easyJet. easyJet Airline Expense Claim Form
Use the baggage portal for luggage that arrived damaged, late, or not at all. You need a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) from the airport before you can file online.3easyJet. Damaged or Delayed Bags and Lost Property
For quick operational questions — seat changes, booking amendments, flight status — easyJet runs a 24/7 live chat through its Help Centre.4easyJet. easyJet Help Centre The forms are for issues that need a paper trail.
What to Have Ready
Gather these before opening any of the forms:
- Booking reference: a code starting with E or K, on your boarding pass or booking confirmation.5easyJet. easyJet Compensation Claims Portal
- Flight number: starts with EZY, EJU, or EZS. Enter only the numeric portion on the form.5easyJet. easyJet Compensation Claims Portal
- Original flight date: the date on your boarding pass, not the date you actually flew if you were rebooked.
- Passenger names spelled exactly as they appear on the booking. A small mismatch can delay processing.
- Receipts for expense claims. Each one must clearly show date, location, and amount, and the currency you enter on the form must match the currency printed on the receipt.2easyJet. easyJet Airline Expense Claim Form
- PIR reference for baggage claims, from the report you received at the arrivals hall.3easyJet. Damaged or Delayed Bags and Lost Property
All three forms accept uploads in PDF, HTML, GIF, BMP, PNG, JPEG, and JPG formats, up to 5 MB per file.5easyJet. easyJet Compensation Claims Portal Photograph receipts in good light and check the text is legible before uploading.
Filling Out the EU261 Compensation Form
The form has six sections and takes around ten minutes with documents to hand.
Flight details come first: booking reference, flight number, original date, whether the claim is for a delay, cancellation, or denied boarding, and your booked departure and arrival airports. If your flight was diverted, select “delay.”5easyJet. easyJet Compensation Claims Portal
Contact information is next: name matching the booking, address, email, and mobile number with international dialing code. The form asks whether you made the original booking; if you are not the lead passenger, you can only claim for yourself.5easyJet. easyJet Compensation Claims Portal
For payment details you select the country where your account is held and the payment currency. The currency option is often locked to your country of residence.
The passengers section lets you add everyone on the same booking reference you are claiming for. You need their permission, and once you submit on their behalf, they cannot file a separate claim for the same booking.5easyJet. easyJet Compensation Claims Portal
Supporting documents are optional but help: the original booking confirmation, a screenshot showing the delay, a birth certificate if you are claiming for a child, or a marriage certificate if the name on the booking differs from yours.
Confirmation is the final step. Two checkboxes: one certifying your information is accurate and that you are authorized to claim for anyone else listed, and one confirming that the claim does not entitle you to a refund for unused tickets. Compensation and ticket refunds are separate processes.5easyJet. easyJet Compensation Claims Portal
How Much You Can Claim
EU Regulation 261/2004 sets fixed amounts by flight distance, not ticket price: €250 for flights of 1,500 km or less; €400 for intra-EU flights over 1,500 km and for other flights between 1,500 km and 3,500 km; and €600 for flights over 3,500 km. If easyJet rerouted you and you still arrived late, compensation can be reduced by 50 percent.6European Union. Air Passenger Rights
You are not entitled to compensation if the disruption was caused by extraordinary circumstances outside easyJet’s control, such as severe weather, air traffic control restrictions, or strikes.5easyJet. easyJet Compensation Claims Portal Cancellations announced more than 14 days before departure also fall outside the rules, though you still have the right to a full ticket refund or rebooking.6European Union. Filling Out the Expense Form
The expense form covers costs easyJet should have arranged but didn’t during a disruption: meals, a hotel room, and transport between airport and hotel. It does not cover expenses before your outbound flight or after arriving at your destination, such as airport parking or a taxi from your destination airport to your hotel.2easyJet. easyJet Airline Expense Claim Form
Upload a separate receipt for each expense, even when two appear on the same document. Card payment slips are accepted, but the claimed amount must exactly match what the receipt shows. If an item is not on easyJet’s reimbursable list, the airline will not pay it regardless of how reasonable it seems.2easyJet. easyJet Airline Expense Claim Form
One quirk worth knowing: after you submit the expense form, easyJet does not send you a copy of what you entered.2easyJet. easyJet Airline Expense Claim Form Screenshot each page before submitting. If you qualify for reimbursement, easyJet contacts you to arrange payment; no timeline is promised.
Filing a Baggage Claim
Baggage starts at the airport, not online. If your bag arrives damaged or does not appear on the carousel, report it at the baggage desk in the arrivals hall before you leave. The desk issues a Property Irregularity Report with a reference number you will need for the online claim. Then submit at easyjet.claim-baggage.com with the PIR reference, your boarding pass or booking reference, photos of any damage, and receipts for essential items you had to buy while your bag was delayed.3easyJet. Damaged or Delayed Bags and Lost Property
Deadlines are strict. Damaged luggage must be reported in writing within 7 days of arrival if you didn’t file at the airport. Delayed luggage gives you 21 days from the date the bag was delivered to you. Miss either window and you lose the right to claim.3easyJet. Damaged or Delayed Bags and Lost Property
Claiming for Everyone on a Group Booking
If you are the lead passenger — the first name listed on the reservation — you can submit a single compensation claim for everyone under that booking reference. Anyone else on the booking who tries to file individually can only claim for themselves.5easyJet. easyJet Compensation Claims Portal
Get explicit permission from each passenger before you submit. Ticking the confirmation box certifies that everyone listed has authorized you to file and receive payment on their behalf, and once submitted, none of them can file a separate claim for the same flight.5easyJet. easyJet Compensation Claims Portal If you are not the lead passenger and want to claim for others, ask the lead passenger to submit instead.
After You Submit and When to Escalate
For EU261 claims, easyJet communicates by email using the address you provided. Keep copies of everything: confirmation screens, emails, and the receipts you uploaded. If easyJet asks follow-up questions, respond in the same email thread to keep a single record.
The eight-week mark is the date to watch. If easyJet has not resolved your complaint within eight weeks of your initial written submission, you gain the right to escalate.7AviationADR. EasyJet Complaints – How to Complain About an EasyJet Flight You can also escalate earlier if easyJet sends a final response (sometimes called a “deadlock letter”) that you disagree with.

EasyJet Complaints – How to Complain About an EasyJet Flight Decisions bind the airline: if the adjudicator rules in your favor and you accept, easyJet must comply. Include copies of your correspondence, receipts, booking confirmations, and a clear summary of what happened and what you are claiming. You must file within 12 months of easyJet’s final response, or within 12 months of your last written communication to them if they never responded.
Flights Departing From EU Countries
AviationADR covers flights departing from or arriving at UK airports. For easyJet flights departing from EU member states, contact the National Enforcement Body in the country where the incident happened. The European Commission maintains the list.9European Commission. National Enforcement Bodies (NEB) If the airline does not participate in an ADR scheme in that country, the UK Civil Aviation Authority’s Passenger Advice and Complaints Team (PACT) can review your complaint, though unlike AviationADR, PACT cannot force the airline to pay.10UK Civil Aviation Authority. How to Make a Complaint
US Passengers and the IBAN Field
easyJet’s payment system is built around European banking. The compensation form asks for your bank’s country, SWIFT code, and IBAN, and American banks do not use IBANs.
If the portal does not include a separate field for a US account number, entering the account number in the IBAN field has worked for some passengers. Your SWIFT code (also called a BIC) is on your bank’s website or available by phone. Another route is a multi-currency digital bank account that gives you a European IBAN, then transferring the funds to your US account afterward.
Compensation is denominated in euros. When easyJet converts to your local currency, the exchange rate is whatever the airline has at the time of processing, which may differ from the rate on a currency converter. There is no published schedule of rates, and the airline has stated it processes payments “in line with the regulation” using “the current rate available to us.”
