How to Fill Out the America First Credit Union Direct Deposit Form

The America First Credit Union direct deposit form authorizes your employer or another payer to send money electronically into your AFCU checking or savings account. You can print the PDF from the credit union’s website or skip the paper entirely and enroll through online banking.1America First Credit Union. Getting the Form

Two paths, no branch visit required.

To enroll through online banking, log in, click Settings, select Forms, choose Direct Deposit Application, then click Switch Direct Deposits and follow the prompts.1America First Credit Union. Direct Deposit The system generates the authorization electronically.

The printable PDF lives on the credit union’s direct deposit services page.3America First Credit Union. America First Credit Union Direct Deposit Form You can type into the fields before printing or print a blank copy and fill it in by hand. Keep a copy before you hand the original to payroll.

Filling In the Form

The form has three parts. A single wrong digit in the routing or account number can send your paycheck to the wrong place or bounce it back to your employer, so work slowly.

Personal Information

Enter your Social Security number, full name, street address, city, state, and ZIP code. The form also asks for home and work phone numbers. Payroll uses the SSN to match the authorization to your employee record, so it has to match what your employer already has on file.3America First Credit Union. Account Information

This is where most errors happen. The fields:

  • Credit union name: America First Credit Union.
  • Bank routing number: 324377516. This nine-digit number identifies AFCU in the ACH network. You’ll also find it on the bottom left of an AFCU check.2America First Credit Union. Routing Number – America First Credit Union
  • 12-digit ACH direct deposit number. This is not the shorter account number printed on your checks. To find it, log into online banking, click your Share Savings or Checking account, and unhide the number.3America First Credit Union. America First Credit Union Direct Deposit Form
  • Account type: check savings or checking.
  • Employee number: fill in only if your employer assigns one.
  • Effective date: mark “Immediately” or write in a specific start date.

Deposit Details and Signature

You can send your full net pay, a percentage of net pay, or a specific dollar amount. Splitting your paycheck between accounts, say a fixed amount to savings with the rest to checking, means filling out a separate form for each account.

Add your employer’s name, the date, and your signature. That signature authorizes your employer to deposit funds and to reverse any erroneous deposit, and it stays in effect until you cancel it in writing.3America First Credit Union. America First Credit Union Direct Deposit Form

Handing It to Your Employer

Submit the completed form to your employer’s payroll or HR department. AFCU does not process it for you; the form is your instruction to your employer telling them where to send your pay.3America First Credit Union. If payroll wants extra verification, a voided AFCU check works. The routing and account numbers are printed in machine-readable ink along the bottom. Members without checks can ask AFCU for a verification letter or pull account details from online banking.

When the First Deposit Will Arrive

Direct deposit usually takes one to two pay cycles to activate. Your employer may keep issuing paper checks during that gap, so don’t be alarmed if your first payday after submitting the form still comes on paper. Check the pay stub to see whether payroll has switched over.

Once the switch should have happened, confirm the deposit through the AFCU mobile app or online banking. If nothing shows up after two full pay cycles, start with payroll. The problem is almost always on their end: a transposed digit, a missing leading zero, or the check account number entered instead of the 12-digit ACH number. If payroll confirms the deposit went out and it still isn’t showing, call AFCU. The credit union can check whether an incoming ACH was received, returned, or routed to a different account under your membership.

Federal Payments Use a Different Path

Employer payroll is only one source of direct deposit. Federal benefits and tax refunds route the same two AFCU numbers through different enrollment channels; the AFCU form is not what you use.

Under 31 U.S.C. ยง 3332, federal payments must go by electronic funds transfer unless the Treasury Secretary grants a waiver, and recipients who lack a bank account can request an exemption in writing.4Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 31 USC 3332 – Required Direct Deposit Paper checks for federal benefits are being phased out after September 30, 2025, with limited exceptions.5U.S. Department of the Treasury, Bureau of the Fiscal Service. Reporting an Error

Regulation E gives you 60 days from the date AFCU sends the statement that shows the error to report it. A missing deposit that should have appeared on the statement counts as an error under that rule.7Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Procedures for Resolving Errors Call or visit AFCU as soon as you spot the problem. The credit union may ask you to follow up with written confirmation within 10 business days of your initial call.
