How to Fill Out and Submit Your Pinnacle Bank Direct Deposit Form

The Pinnacle Bank direct deposit form routes your paycheck or recurring payment straight into your Pinnacle Bank account. It lives on page three of Pinnacle Bank’s SwitchKit, which you can download as a PDF from pinnbank.com or pick up at any branch.1Pinnacle Bank. Pinnacle Bank Switch Kit Fill it out, attach a voided check, and hand the packet to your employer’s payroll or HR department. Pinnacle Bank itself does not process the form.

Where to Get the Form

The form is bundled inside the SwitchKit brochure, a short document Pinnacle Bank publishes to walk customers through moving automatic deposits and payments from another bank.2Pinnacle Bank. Pinnacle Bank SwitchKit Print the direct deposit page, complete it, and give it to whoever handles payroll where you work. Your employer’s payroll system is what actually initiates the deposits, so any paperwork ultimately needs to reach them.

Numbers You Need Before You Start

Two numbers do the real work on this form: your Pinnacle Bank routing number and your account number.

For accounts in Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri, the Pinnacle Bank routing number is 104913912.3Pinnacle Bank. Routing Number This nine-digit code identifies Pinnacle Bank inside the Automated Clearing House network that moves the funds.4Bureau of the Fiscal Service. Automated Clearing House If your account is based in a different state, confirm the routing number on one of your checks or by calling your branch, since routing numbers can vary by region.

Your account number is printed at the bottom of your checks, just to the right of the routing number. It also appears on your monthly statements and inside Pinnacle Bank’s online banking. A single transposed digit is the most common reason a direct deposit fails, so verify both numbers against a check or statement before writing anything on the form.

What Each Field Asks For

The form is one page. Work through it top to bottom:2Pinnacle Bank. Pinnacle Bank SwitchKit

  • To (Employer): the company that issues your paycheck.
  • Starting Date: the pay period or date you want electronic deposits to begin.
  • New Account Number: your Pinnacle Bank account number.
  • New Bank Routing Number: 104913912 for Nebraska, Kansas, or Missouri accounts.
  • Switching From: the bank currently receiving your deposits, if any.
  • Old Account Number and Old Bank Routing Number: fill in only if you are moving deposits away from a previous bank.
  • Account Holder, Address, City/State/Zip: your full legal name and current mailing address.
  • Daytime Phone: a number where payroll can reach you.
  • Signature and Printed Name: the form is not valid without your signature.

The SwitchKit form is built to move your entire deposit to Pinnacle Bank. If you only want part of your paycheck deposited here, your employer will usually have its own form for splitting deposits across multiple accounts.

Attaching a Voided Check

Next to the account number field, the form notes “Attached is voided check.” A voided check gives payroll a physical record of your routing number, account number, and name in one place.5Bankrate. How to Void a Check To void one, write VOID in large letters across the front. Do not sign it or fill in any other fields.

No checks yet? Ask a Pinnacle Bank branch for an official bank letter listing your name, routing number, and account number, signed by a bank representative. Some employers will also accept a printout or screenshot from online banking that shows the same information, though acceptance varies.

Submitting the Form and When Deposits Start

Hand the completed form and voided check to your employer’s payroll or HR contact. Pinnacle Bank does not receive or process it. Expect one to two full pay cycles before the first electronic deposit hits your account.6PayPal. How Long Does It Take to See Money From Direct Deposit

During that window, most payroll systems send a prenote, a zero-dollar test transaction that verifies your routing and account numbers connect to a live account. A prenote typically clears in about three days.7Modern Treasury. What Is an ACH Prenote? If it fails, your employer receives a return code, you correct the information, and the clock restarts. Until the first real deposit posts, your employer will continue paying you the old way, whether that is a paper check or a deposit to your previous bank.

If a Deposit Does Not Arrive

Payday came and nothing landed? Start with your employer’s payroll department. The usual culprits are a transposed account number, a routing number from the wrong region, or a failed prenote no one flagged. Payroll can trace the ACH transaction and tell you whether the funds were sent, returned, or still in transit.

For errors that actually post to your account, federal Regulation E gives you a window to act. You have 60 days from the date Pinnacle Bank sends or makes available the statement showing the error to report it.8eCFR. 12 CFR 1005.11 – Procedures for Resolving Errors Once notified, the bank has 10 business days to investigate and three business days after that to report results. If it needs more time, it can extend to 45 days, but only if it provisionally credits your account within the first 10 business days so you are not out the money while the investigation runs.

Report problems as soon as you notice them. Missing the 60-day window can limit what you can recover.

Changing, Canceling, or Splitting Your Deposit

Any change to a direct deposit, whether you are switching accounts, adjusting a split, or canceling entirely, goes through your employer. Submit a new authorization form with the updated details, and expect the same one to two pay cycle delay before the change takes effect.

Timing is what trips people up. If you close your Pinnacle Bank account before payroll has finished routing your check somewhere else, the next deposit has nowhere to go. Banks generally return the funds to the sender, which can take five to ten days, and you then wait for your employer to reissue payment.9SoFi. What Happens to a Direct Deposit if It Goes to a Closed Account? Keep the old account open until you have confirmed at least one successful deposit in the new one.

To split a paycheck across two or more accounts, use your employer’s payroll system rather than the SwitchKit form. Most payroll platforms let you designate each account by dollar amount or percentage, and you will need the routing and account numbers for every destination.10PNC. What Is Split Direct Deposit? Ask HR whether split deposits are supported and request the right form.

Federal Benefits and Tax Refunds

Your Pinnacle Bank routing and account numbers work the same way for payments outside a paycheck. Federal benefit payments, including Social Security and Supplemental Security Income, must be delivered electronically, either as a direct deposit or through a Direct Express debit card.11Social Security Administration. Social Security Direct Deposit To send those to Pinnacle Bank, enroll or update your payment method through the Social Security Administration using your routing number (104913912 for Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri) and account number.

For an IRS tax refund going entirely to one account, enter your Pinnacle Bank routing and account numbers directly on Form 1040. To split a refund across up to three accounts, file Form 8888 with your return. Each deposit must be at least one dollar, and the amounts have to total your refund exactly, or the IRS may deposit the whole refund into the first account listed.
