How to Fill Out and Submit the OnPoint Direct Deposit Form

To set up an OnPoint direct deposit form, get the authorization form from your employer’s payroll or HR department, fill in OnPoint’s routing number (323075880) and your full OnPoint account number, mark whether the money goes to checking or savings, sign and date it, then hand it back to payroll.1OnPoint Community Credit Union. The credit union receives the deposit; your employer is the one that needs your account details on file.

Find Your OnPoint Routing and Account Numbers

Every direct deposit form asks for two numbers. OnPoint’s routing number is 323075880, and it is the same for every OnPoint member.2OnPoint Community Credit Union. What is OnPoints Routing and Transit Number Your account number is unique to you and varies in length.

What the Form Asks For

Layouts vary by employer, but almost every direct deposit authorization form covers the same fields:

  • Your full legal name, matching the name on your OnPoint account. A mismatch between payroll records and bank records can cause the deposit to bounce back.
  • Routing number: 323075880.2OnPoint Community Credit Union. What is OnPoints Routing and Transit Number
  • Your full OnPoint account number, double-checked against digital banking.
  • Account type: checking or savings. Getting this wrong is one of the most common reasons a first deposit fails.
  • Deposit amount. Most forms let you send your entire paycheck to one account or split a fixed dollar amount or percentage across several. For a single account, choose “entire net pay” or “100%.”
  • Signature and date. Without the signature, payroll won’t process the form.

Some forms also ask for the financial institution’s name. That’s OnPoint Community Credit Union. The routing number is the identifier that actually moves the money, but have the name handy in case the form has a field for it.

Submitting the Form

Return the completed form to your employer’s payroll or HR department, not to OnPoint. The credit union receives deposits; it doesn’t initiate them.1OnPoint Community Credit Union. Many employers want a voided check attached so payroll can confirm the numbers visually. If you don’t have checks, a screenshot or printout of your account details from digital banking usually works, and some employers accept a direct deposit verification letter from OnPoint, which you can request at a branch. Nacha, which governs the ACH network, has noted that online and mobile banking have largely replaced voided checks as the standard way to verify account information.4Nacha. When Your First Deposit Will Arrive

Direct deposit activation typically takes one to two pay cycles. The exact timing depends on when you turned in the form relative to your employer’s payroll cutoff and the software they use. During the transition, you may still get one more paper check before electronic deposits start. Once the first deposit posts, it will show up as a credit in your OnPoint transaction history through digital banking or the mobile app.

If nothing has arrived after two full pay periods, call your employer’s payroll department first. The usual culprit is a typo in the routing or account number. A wrong account number triggers an ACH return: the payment network bounces the deposit back to the sender because it can’t find a matching account. Payroll can correct the error and resubmit on the next cycle. If payroll confirms their numbers are right, call OnPoint to check whether anything is blocking incoming deposits on the account.

Splitting Your Paycheck Across Two Accounts

If you want to automate saving, many employers let you split your paycheck between two or more accounts. You fill out a separate line (or a second form) for each destination, specifying either a fixed dollar amount or a percentage. For instance, $200 per paycheck to an OnPoint savings account and the remainder to checking.

You’ll need the routing number and account number for each destination. If you’re splitting between an OnPoint checking and OnPoint savings account, the routing number is the same for both; only the account numbers differ. Designate one account as the “remainder” or “balance” account so whatever is left after the fixed-dollar deposits lands there. If your employer’s payroll system doesn’t support splits, you can set up an automatic recurring transfer inside OnPoint’s digital banking to move money between your own accounts on payday.

Changing or Canceling Direct Deposit Later

If you open a new OnPoint account or move to another financial institution, submit a new direct deposit form to your employer with the updated details. Don’t close the old account until at least one deposit has landed in the new one. The FDIC recommends monitoring the old account during the transition and making sure all pending withdrawals have cleared before closing it, because shutting it down too early can trigger fees or cause payments to fail.5FDIC. Thinking About Moving to Another Bank?

To stop direct deposit entirely and go back to paper checks, notify your employer’s payroll department in writing. Some employers strongly encourage electronic payment and may require you to opt out formally. There is no form to send to OnPoint for cancellation. The change happens on the employer’s side, the same way setup did.
