How to Fill Out a PSECU Direct Deposit Authorization Form

To set up a PSECU direct deposit, you need two numbers: PSECU’s routing number, 231381116, and your 10-digit PSECU account number.1PSECU. Support: Routing Number, Account Number and FAQs You can give those numbers to your employer two ways. The faster option is PSECU’s digital banking portal, which connects to your payroll system automatically through a service called Pinwheel. The traditional option is a paper direct deposit authorization form that you fill out and hand to payroll yourself.

Set It Up Through PSECU Digital Banking

PSECU’s preferred method skips the paper form entirely. Inside your digital banking account, Pinwheel talks to your employer’s payroll system and updates your deposit instructions for you. There’s no cost.2PSECU. Direct Deposit for Easy Banking

Log in to PSECU digital banking (or sign up if you don’t have an account yet). Open the menu in the top left, select “Account,” then “Direct Deposit.” Pinwheel then walks you through three steps:2PSECU. Direct Deposit for Easy Banking

  • Search for your employer. Pinwheel’s database covers over a million employers and payroll providers.
  • Log in to your payroll account using the credentials you’d use on your employer’s payroll portal. Pinwheel uses those to update your deposit instructions directly.
  • Choose where the money goes: your full paycheck or a partial amount, and which PSECU account receives it — checking, regular savings, additional savings, money market, or a combination.

Have your employer’s name and your payroll login ready before you start. The whole thing takes a few minutes.

Fill Out the Paper Direct Deposit Form

Some employers won’t accept a digital connection and still want a signed paper authorization. In that case you’ll complete a standard direct deposit form with your PSECU banking details and deliver it to payroll.

Routing and Account Numbers

The PSECU routing number is 231381116.3PSECU. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) This nine-digit code routes the ACH transaction to PSECU. One wrong digit sends the money to the wrong institution.

The account number depends on where you want the money to land:

  • For a checking deposit, use the 10-digit checking account number printed on your PSECU checks, including any leading zeroes.
  • For a savings deposit, use your 10-digit PSECU Member Number, again with leading zeroes.3PSECU. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Both numbers also appear in your digital banking profile. Verify every digit against your online account before you write anything down. A transposed digit typically produces an ACH return (code R03, “account not located”), which bounces the deposit back to your employer and delays your pay.

The Other Fields

A typical direct deposit authorization also asks for:

  • Your full legal name, matching the name on your PSECU account, including any middle initial.
  • Account type — a box for checking or savings that matches the account number you wrote above.
  • Deposit amount. Most forms let you deposit your entire net pay or a fixed dollar amount, with the remainder going elsewhere.
  • Signature and date. Without a signature the form is not an authorization and payroll won’t process it.

Attach a voided PSECU check if you have one. It gives the payroll clerk a second source for your routing and account numbers and helps catch typos. If the form asks for your full Social Security number, ask payroll whether the last four digits are enough; many systems only need the shortened version.

Where the Form Goes

The completed form goes to your employer, not to PSECU. Hand it to your HR or payroll contact. PSECU’s role is receiving the deposit, not processing the authorization. Many employers accept a scanned or photographed copy uploaded through an internal payroll portal; others still require the original with a wet signature. Ask which your payroll department wants before you submit.

If the direct deposit you’re setting up is for federal benefits rather than a paycheck, use the agency’s own process instead. Splitting a Paycheck Across Accounts

PSECU’s Pinwheel setup can split a single paycheck across multiple PSECU accounts — checking, savings, or money market — in one go.2PSECU. Direct Deposit for Easy Banking If you also keep an account at another institution, most employers will accept separate direct deposit authorizations for each bank, with a fixed dollar amount going to each and the remainder to a primary account.

When the First Deposit Actually Lands

Direct deposit doesn’t start on the next payday. Expect one to two full pay cycles before the first electronic deposit arrives in your PSECU account.2PSECU. Direct Deposit for Easy Banking Most employers first run a pre-note, a zero-dollar test through the ACH network that confirms the routing and account numbers work. The pre-note settles in roughly three to five business days, and if nothing bounces, the account is cleared for live deposits.

Watch your PSECU transaction history in the app or digital banking portal around your first expected pay date. If the deposit hasn’t shown up by the second scheduled payday, call your payroll department to confirm the authorization was processed.

If Something Goes Wrong

The most common cause of a failed deposit is a wrong number on the form. A wrong routing number sends the money to the wrong institution entirely. A wrong account number produces an R03 return — the receiving bank can’t match the transaction to an open account. Either way, the funds bounce back to your employer, who then has to reissue payment, which usually costs several business days.

If you set up through Pinwheel and a deposit doesn’t arrive, check whether your payroll login credentials have changed. A password reset or a payroll provider migration at your employer can quietly break the connection. Log back into PSECU digital banking and re-run the direct deposit setup.

If a deposit lands in the wrong PSECU account — savings instead of checking, for example — contact PSECU to move the funds, then update the account designation with your employer so the next check lands correctly. Caught early, this is usually a same-day fix.
