How to Complete the Bunnings PowerPass Card Application Form

The Bunnings PowerPass application is a short online form at bunningspowerpass.com.au, or an in-person sign-up at any Bunnings Trade Desk, that gives tradespeople, owner builders, and apprentices access to exclusive trade pricing across Australia. Which documents you need depends on which of the three membership types you choose, so pick that first.

Which Membership Type Fits You

Bunnings offers three PowerPass memberships, and each has a different eligibility path. Choose before you start the form, because the fields change based on your selection.1Bunnings Trade AU. PowerPass

  • Standard is for businesses and sole traders. You need a valid Australian Business Number (ABN) or Australian Company Number (ACN). If the ABN is registered under a trust, have the trustee details ready too.
  • Owner Builder is for individuals building or renovating their own home. The membership lasts three years and carries the same benefits as Standard. Instead of an ABN, you supply a valid Owner Builder Permit issued by your local council or state authority.
  • Apprentice membership does not require an ABN. You upload your apprentice registration number and supporting documentation during the application.

Documents to Have Ready Before You Start

The online form does not let you save progress and come back later, so collect everything before you open it. Standard applicants need an ABN or ACN. Owner Builders need the permit number and issuing authority. Apprentices need the registration number and proof of enrolment.1Bunnings Trade AU. PowerPass

If you also plan to apply for credit or a 30-day account at the same time, the paperwork is heavier. Only directors, partners, or sole proprietors can apply for credit. The form asks for each applicant’s driver’s licence number, date of birth, and residential address. You will also need the business’s accounts payable postal address and email, plus financial information covering turnover, assets, and liabilities.1Bunnings Trade AU. PowerPass

Applying Online or at the Trade Desk

Go to bunningspowerpass.com.au and select the membership type that matches your situation. The form steps through business details, contact information, and any supporting documents the category requires.2Bunnings. Bunnings PowerPass

At Step 3, select “Yes” next to “Temporary Paper Card Required.” Bunnings then emails you a temporary card you can use in-store immediately while the permanent card is produced and posted.1Bunnings Trade AU. PowerPass

Prefer to apply in person? Walk into any Bunnings and ask at the Trade Desk. Staff take your business details and hand you a Temporary Paper Card on the spot.1Bunnings Trade AU. PowerPass

Activating the Physical Card

Posted cards take up to 12 working days to arrive. When yours turns up, you cannot start using it on the spot. Sign the back, then bring the card and photo ID into any Bunnings store or Trade Centre. The name on your ID must match the name printed on the card, and your signature must match the back. You set a four-digit PIN at the counter during that visit. Activation cannot be done by phone or online.1Bunnings Trade AU. PowerPass

Cash cards are the exception and do not need in-store activation.1Bunnings Trade AU. PowerPass

If You Want a Credit or 30-Day Account

A basic PowerPass runs as a cash account with trade pricing. To buy now and pay later, you apply for credit as a separate step, either during the initial application or afterwards by logging in and selecting “Apply for Credit” from your profile.1Bunnings Trade AU. PowerPass

Credit limits are offered at $1,000, $2,500, or $5,000, and the limit applies as one aggregate amount across every card linked to the account. Terms are 60 days with a minimum payment of 25 percent of the balance. There are no account management fees and no credit card payment fees.3Bunnings Trade AU. PowerPass Credit

After you submit the credit application, expect a response by email within five working days. The assessment reviews the financial details you supplied and may include an inquiry into the personal credit files of the directors or partners named on the application.1Bunnings Trade AU. PowerPass

Adding Employees as Cardholders

Once the account is active, you can issue cards to employees or subcontractors who need to buy on your behalf. Email PowerPass@bunnings.com.au with your account number, your name, and the names of the people you want added. Each new cardholder gets their own physical card, but purchases draw from the same account and the same aggregate credit limit.1Bunnings Trade AU. PowerPass

What You Get With PowerPass

The point of the application is trade pricing: exclusive discounts across the store that only appear when you scan your card or log in online. Not every product carries a PowerPass price, so scanning before you load the trolley is the quickest way to check.1Bunnings Trade AU. PowerPass

Members also get access to in-store Trade Specialists, Account Managers who visit job sites, and a Trade Assist team for quotes, orders, and deliveries. Next-day Click and Collect is available at selected locations, and direct-to-site delivery can be arranged through the Bunnings network.1Bunnings Trade AU. PowerPass

Other perks include exclusive pricing on Coates hire equipment through the in-store Hire Shop, MYOB accounting software from $6 for 12 months, 100 percent off Xero for the first six months, 10 percent off UltraTune logbook services, 20 percent off InstantScripts, and CPD points through Pointsbuild with 10 percent off online courses.1Bunnings Trade AU. One limit worth knowing before you apply: Flybuys points cannot be collected on purchases made with a PowerPass credit, cash, or 30-day account. You get PowerPass pricing or Flybuys points on a given transaction, not both.1Bunnings Trade AU. PowerPass
