How to Cancel Your Snapchat Subscription and Get a Refund

To cancel your Snapchat+ subscription, go to whichever platform you originally signed up through — Apple, Google Play, or Snapchat’s web portal — and cancel there. Snapchat doesn’t process the payment itself, so canceling inside the Snapchat app alone won’t stop the charges. Your Snapchat+ features stay active until the end of the billing period you already paid for.

First, Find Out Where You Signed Up

Billing runs through Apple, Google, or Snapchat’s own web checkout depending on how you subscribed. Trying to cancel through the wrong one won’t work, because that platform has no record of your subscription.

Open Snapchat, tap your profile icon, then tap the gear icon for Settings. Find the Snapchat+ section and tap Manage. If you subscribed through an app store, the button sends you to Apple or Google’s subscription page. If you subscribed on the web, it opens Snapchat’s account portal instead.1Snapchat Support. If you’d rather confirm from outside the app, check your email for the original purchase confirmation, or look at your bank statement to see whether Apple, Google, or Snapchat is listed as the merchant.

Canceling on iPhone or iPad

If you subscribed through an Apple device, cancel from your device settings, not inside Snapchat:

  • Open Settings and tap your name at the top of the screen.
  • Tap Subscriptions to see every active subscription on your Apple Account.
  • Tap Snapchat+ in the list.
  • Tap Cancel Subscription. You may need to scroll to find it. If you see a red expiration message instead, the subscription is already canceled.

Your Snapchat+ features remain available until the paid period ends, and Apple does not issue a partial refund for the remaining days.2Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple

Canceling on Android

Android subscribers cancel through the Google Play Store:

  • Open the Play Store app and tap your profile icon in the upper-right corner.
  • Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  • Tap Snapchat+.
  • Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts. Google may ask why you’re leaving.

Google emails a confirmation once cancellation goes through. Save it. Access continues to the end of the current billing cycle.3Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play

If you only want a temporary break, Google Play sometimes offers a Pause option instead. When available, the pause begins at the end of your billing period and runs one to three months for a monthly plan. If you don’t see a Pause payments option when you tap Manage, pausing isn’t supported for your subscription.3Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play

Canceling a Web Subscription

If you signed up through a browser and paid Snapchat directly, neither Apple nor Google has any record of the subscription. Go to accounts.snapchat.com, sign in, open the subscription management page, click Cancel, and confirm. Tapping Manage from the Snapchat+ section inside the Snapchat app also opens this same page when your subscription is web-based.1Snapchat Support. Canceling During the Free Trial

Snapchat+ sometimes offers a seven-day free trial for new subscribers. It converts to a paid subscription automatically unless you cancel first, and timing matters.

On iOS, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Wait until the last day and Apple processes the renewal and charges you anyway. Android and web cancellations don’t have the same documented 24-hour buffer, but canceling a day early is still the safer move.1Snapchat Support. The cancellation steps during a trial are the same as for a paid subscription. You keep the trial features until the trial period runs out.

If You Already Got Charged

Missed the window? A refund isn’t guaranteed, but it’s worth asking. Who to ask depends on who billed you.

Apple

Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, select Request a refund, choose a reason, and pick the Snapchat+ charge from your purchase history. Apple usually responds within 24 to 48 hours. The sooner you file after an unwanted charge, the better your odds.4Apple Support. Request a Refund for Apps or Content That You Bought From Apple

Google Play

For a charge within the last 48 hours, request the refund through Google Play directly: go to play.google.com, find the transaction in your order history, and submit the request. Past 48 hours, Google will direct you to contact the developer instead. Decisions usually arrive within one to four business days.5Google Play Help. Request a Refund on Google Play

Web Subscribers

If you subscribed on Snapchat’s site, contact Snapchat Support through the app’s support bot. One thing to know: once a web refund is processed, your Snapchat+ access is removed immediately rather than continuing to the end of the billing cycle.

Your Saved Card After You Cancel

Canceling stops future charges, but it doesn’t clear payment details saved on your device. For an Apple or Google Play subscription, the card lives in your Apple Account or Google Account, and removing it there affects every subscription on that account, not only Snapchat. Only pull the card if you’re sure you don’t use it for other app store purchases.
