How to Cancel Your Hume Subscription: Billing Page, App Stores, Refunds

To cancel a Hume AI subscription, go to app.hume.ai/billing, open your current plan, and either downgrade to the free tier or cancel outright before your next renewal date. If you signed up through the iOS app or Google Play instead of on Hume’s website, you have to cancel through Apple or Google, because Hume can’t stop a subscription billed by an app store. Hume’s terms treat all sales as final and refunds as discretionary, so timing the cancellation before renewal is what actually protects your money.

Cancel on the Hume Billing Page

If you subscribed directly through Hume, everything happens at app.hume.ai/billing. That page shows your current plan, your next renewal date, your payment method, and the controls to change or cancel the plan.1Hume AI. Billing Check the renewal date first. If it’s close, cancel now rather than later, because Hume doesn’t prorate.

Downgrading to the free tier is worth considering if you still want the account. Hume applies downgrades at the start of your next renewal period, so you keep the paid features through the end of the current cycle and stop being charged after that.1Hume AI. Billing Save a screenshot of the confirmation once your plan status updates. If a charge later appears that shouldn’t have, that record is what you’ll rely on.

Cancel Through Apple or Google if You Subscribed in the App

Hume publishes an iOS app called “Hume: Your Personal AI.” When you subscribe inside an app store, the app store owns the billing relationship, and Hume can’t cancel it for you.

On an iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions. Find Hume in the list and tap Cancel Subscription, then confirm.2Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple The subscription runs to the end of the current period and then stops renewing.

On Android, open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile icon, go to Payments & subscriptions, then Manage subscriptions. Select Hume and follow the prompts.3Google Play. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play Access continues through the paid period you’ve already been billed for.

Email Hume if You Can’t Cancel Yourself

If you’re locked out, the billing page isn’t loading, or something else blocks the self-service route, Hume handles cancellations by email. For billing, invoices, or payment questions, write to billing@hume.ai. For account access problems, use hello@hume.ai. Hume says to expect a reply in one to two business days.4Hume AI. Support

Include the email address tied to your account, the plan you’re on, and a clear statement that you want to cancel. Send it with enough lead time before your renewal to absorb that response window, and keep both your sent message and any reply as your record.

Refunds Are Discretionary

Hume’s terms of use say all sales are final, all payment obligations are non-cancelable and non-refundable except as specifically provided, and refunds are offered only at Hume’s discretion. On termination, you owe any outstanding fees.5Hume AI. Terms of Use Canceling mid-cycle doesn’t automatically refund the unused portion.

If you were charged after a cancellation should have taken effect, email billing@hume.ai with your documentation. If that doesn’t resolve it, you can dispute the charge with your card issuer or bank.

Canceling Doesn’t Delete Your Data

Ending a subscription stops future charges. It does not erase your account or the data tied to it. To remove those, submit a deletion request through your profile page; Hume says it will delete the account within 30 days of the request.6Hume AI. Privacy

A few data types have their own rules. Chat histories and voice recordings from the EVI API are stored by default unless you toggle “Zero data retention” in your profile settings before you leave. Expression measurement results stay in Hume’s database until you specifically request deletion. Opting out of data use for service improvement in the Playground and Demo products only affects data going forward, not what’s already been collected.6Hume AI. Privacy If any of this matters to you, handle the retention toggle and the deletion request separately from the cancellation.

Stopping Charges Through Your Bank

If charges keep hitting after you’ve canceled, or you can’t reach your account at all, your card issuer or bank can usually block future recurring charges from a specific merchant. Most require the request at least three business days before the next scheduled charge.

This is a backup, not a substitute. Blocking the payment doesn’t cancel your Hume account, and Hume’s terms still treat outstanding fees as owed on termination.5Hume AI. Terms of Use Cancel with Hume first, keep the confirmation, and involve the bank only if the charges continue past when they should have stopped.
