How to Cancel Your Discord Server Subscription: Desktop, Mobile, and Refunds

To cancel a Discord server subscription, open User Settings on desktop and use the Subscriptions tab if you paid through Discord directly; if you subscribed on a phone, cancel through the Apple App Store or Google Play instead, because the store that charged you is the only place that can stop the charge.

First, Figure Out Where You Subscribed

Discord bills three different ways depending on where you signed up: through its desktop app or website, through the Apple App Store on an iPhone or iPad, or through Google Play on an Android device. Canceling in the wrong place is the single most common reason people keep getting charged after they thought they were done.

Open Discord, click the gear icon near your username to open User Settings, and look under the Subscriptions tab. The entry there will show your next charge date and the payment method on file. If the payment method is listed as Apple or Google, you have to cancel through that store, not inside Discord. A Server Boost, which is a separate recurring payment to Discord for server-wide perks, lives under its own Server Boost tab and has to be canceled on its own even if it’s attached to the same server as a subscription.

Cancel on Desktop or the Web

Click the gear icon next to your username to open User Settings, then select the Subscriptions tab on the left. Find the server subscription you want to end and click Manage next to it. Discord runs you through a short set of confirmation prompts, mostly reminding you what access you’ll lose. Click Cancel Subscription on the final screen and the recurring charge stops.

Canceling a Server Boost

From User Settings, switch to the Server Boost tab. You’ll see every server you’re currently boosting. Click the three-dot menu next to the boost you want to end. Discord may route you through the general cancellation flow. Confirm, and the boost is removed at the end of the current billing cycle.

Cancel on iPhone or iPad

Open the Settings app on your device, tap your name at the top to reach your Apple ID, then tap Subscriptions. Find the Discord entry and tap Cancel Subscription. If the only option showing is Renew, the subscription is already set to expire and no further action is needed.

Cancel on Android

Open the Google Play Store app and tap your profile picture in the top-right corner. Go to Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Tap the Discord entry and select Cancel subscription. Google may ask for a reason before confirming. Once the store processes the cancellation, it communicates the change back to Discord and your status updates there as well.

What Happens After You Cancel

Canceling doesn’t cut you off right away. Your roles, badges, custom emojis, and access to gated channels stay active until the end of the billing period you’ve already paid for, usually 30 days on a monthly plan. The Subscriptions tab shows the exact date your benefits expire.

Check that tab again a day or two after the expiration date to confirm no new charge went through. If one did, your cancellation didn’t actually take, which almost always means you canceled inside Discord when the purchase was really processed by Apple or Google. Go back and cancel through the correct store.

Mistakes That Keep You Being Charged

Deleting the Discord app from your phone does not cancel anything. App stores don’t tie billing to whether the app is installed; the subscription keeps running until you cancel it through the store’s settings.

Leaving the server doesn’t cancel the payment either. You can be paying a monthly Server Subscription for a server you haven’t opened in months. If you’ve left a server you were subscribed to, go back into your Subscriptions tab and end the payment there.

Removing your card or letting it expire isn’t a clean cancellation. Discord treats a failed payment as past due and holds the subscription open for a grace period before closing it out, so you’ll have an unresolved entry on your account for weeks. Canceling through the proper steps gives you a definite end date.

If you’re planning to delete your Discord account, cancel every active subscription first and confirm each one shows a pending expiration date. Account deletion and billing don’t always sync cleanly, especially for charges routed through Apple or Google.

Refunds

Discord’s refund window is five days from the initial purchase, for both Server Subscriptions and Server Boosts. After that, refunds are generally not available. Discord also limits you to one refund per subscription category, so a prior Server Boost refund disqualifies you from another.

For a Server Subscription, Discord may point you to the server’s creator or admin first, since that money goes to the server owner rather than to Discord. If the creator can’t resolve it, Discord support can step in. If the original purchase went through Apple or Google, the refund request has to go through that store’s own process, and Discord has no control over the outcome.
