How to Cancel Your Cloaked Subscription and Get a Refund

To cancel a Cloaked subscription, cancel in the same place you signed up: the Cloaked web dashboard if you subscribed directly, Apple if you subscribed through the App Store, or Google Play if you subscribed on Android. The most common mistake is canceling in the wrong place and finding out the charges never stopped, because Cloaked’s billing and the app store billing systems are separate pipelines.

Find Out Who Is Actually Charging You

Pull up your bank or credit card statement and look at the line item. If it says “Cloaked” or references Cloaked’s payment processor, you subscribed directly and need to use the Cloaked dashboard. If it says “Apple.com/bill,” cancel through Apple. If it says “Google Play,” cancel through Google. Canceling on Cloaked’s website will not stop an App Store charge, and canceling in the App Store will not stop a direct Cloaked charge.

Cancel Through the Cloaked Dashboard

If you subscribed directly through Cloaked:

  • Log in to your Cloaked dashboard.
  • Open Settings, go to Subscription, and select Manage Subscription.
  • A new window will open asking you to log in again.
  • Click Cancel Plan.

You can renew later from the same Subscription page if you change your mind.1Cloaked. Cancel Through Apple

If you subscribed on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac through the App Store, Cloaked’s dashboard cannot stop your billing. Cancel through Apple:

If you don’t see a Cancel Subscription button and instead see a message that the subscription has expired, it is already canceled. Apple typically lets you keep using the service through the end of the current billing period.

Cancel Through Google Play

Android subscribers must cancel through Google Play. Uninstalling the Cloaked app does not cancel your subscription, and this trips people up constantly.

  • Open the Google Play app.
  • Tap your profile icon, then Payments and Subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  • Select Cloaked.
  • Tap Cancel Subscription and follow the prompts.

Google Play will confirm the cancellation and display the date your access ends.5Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play

Update Accounts Tied to Your Aliases Before Access Ends

This is the part most people miss until it hurts. Cloaked generates email aliases and phone numbers that forward to your real contact information. When your paid subscription ends, those aliases stop routing messages and calls. If you’ve used a Cloaked alias to sign up for a bank, a medical portal, or any account that matters, update it with your real email address before your subscription expires. Otherwise you can lose access to password resets and account notifications.

Open your dashboard and review which aliases are attached to services you can’t afford to lose contact with. Fix those first. Skipping this step creates problems that are far more painful than the subscription charge itself.

Refunds

Cloaked does not publicly advertise a specific refund window or money-back guarantee. If you think you’re owed a refund for a recent charge, email support@cloaked.com and explain the circumstances.2Cloaked. Contact Us

If the charge came from Apple, request the refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. Sign in, select “Request a refund,” choose a reason, select the Cloaked charge, and submit. Apple asks that you allow 24 to 48 hours for a response, and eligibility varies. You cannot submit a refund request while a charge is still pending; wait until the receipt email arrives.6Apple Support. Request a Refund for Apps or Content That You Bought From Apple

Google Play generally does not refund past subscription charges, though unused prepaid plans may qualify under its separate refund policy.5Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play

Canceling Is Not the Same as Deleting

Canceling stops future billing. It does not delete your Cloaked account or the data in it. If you want the account wiped, take a second step after canceling.

On the web dashboard, click your profile icon, go to Settings, open the Account tab, select “Delete my account,” enter your password, and click Continue. On the mobile app, go to Settings, then Account Security, then “Delete Account,” enter your password, check the acknowledgment box, and confirm.7Cloaked. How Do I Delete My Cloaked Account Deletion is permanent. Make sure any services relying on your aliases are updated first.

If the Charges Keep Coming

If you’ve canceled through the right channel and charges still appear, you have a backup. Under Regulation E, you can stop a preauthorized recurring electronic payment by notifying your bank or credit union at least three business days before the next scheduled charge. The bank can require written confirmation within 14 days of an oral request, so follow up in writing.8eCFR. 12 CFR 1005.10 – Preauthorized Transfers Banks typically charge $20 to $35 for a stop-payment order on a recurring charge, so use this after you’ve already canceled through the correct channel and kept documentation.

Two federal rules also sit behind you. The Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act bars any internet seller from charging you through recurring billing unless material terms were disclosed upfront, you gave informed consent, and there’s a simple way to stop future charges.9Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 15 USC 8403 – Negative Option Marketing on the Internet The FTC’s Click-to-Cancel rule, finalized in late 2024, requires that cancellation be at least as easy as signup: if you signed up online, the seller must let you cancel online.10eCFR. 16 CFR 425.6 – Simple Cancellation (Click to Cancel) If a service makes cancellation unreasonably hard, you can file a complaint at ftc.gov.
