How to Cancel Your CleanX Subscription on Any Device

To cancel your CleanX subscription, go to the subscription settings on the device or account you used to sign up: Apple ID Subscriptions on an iPhone or iPad, Google Play Subscriptions on Android, or Automatic Payments in PayPal. CleanX is billed through those platforms, not inside the app, so you have to cancel there. Do it at least 24 hours before your next renewal date, and know that deleting the app from your phone does not stop the charges.

Cancel on iPhone or iPad

Apple bills the subscription, so you manage it in your Apple ID settings.

  • Open the Settings app.
  • Tap your name at the top.
  • Tap Subscriptions.
  • Tap CleanX.
  • Tap Cancel Subscription.

If there is no Cancel button and you see an expiration date in red, the subscription is already canceled.1Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple You keep access to CleanX until the end of the period you already paid for. Apple does not prorate unused time.

Cancel on Android

Android subscriptions run through Google Play.

  • Open the Google Play app and go to your Subscriptions page, or navigate through Settings > Google > Manage your Google Account > Payments & subscriptions > Manage subscriptions.
  • Select CleanX.
  • Tap Cancel subscription.
  • Follow the prompts to confirm.

You still have access through the rest of your paid cycle.2Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play If you have more than one Google account on your phone and don’t see CleanX listed, switch accounts in Google Play. The subscription is tied to whichever account made the purchase.

Cancel Through PayPal

If you paid through PayPal instead of an app store, cancel the automatic payment authorization in your PayPal account. On the website:

  • Go to Settings.
  • Click Payments.
  • Select Automatic Payments.
  • Find CleanX and cancel it.

In the PayPal app, open the menu, go to Subscriptions or Linked Businesses, select the merchant, and choose Stop Paying with PayPal.3PayPal. What Is an Automatic Payment and How Do I Update or Cancel One Revoking the PayPal authorization stops future charges no matter what the merchant’s own records show.

Deleting the App Does Not Cancel Anything

This is where most people get caught. Uninstalling CleanX removes the app, but the recurring charge keeps running. Apple and Google treat the subscription as a billing agreement that continues until you cancel it through the steps above.2Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play If you deleted the app weeks ago and just noticed the charges, go into your subscription settings now to stop the next one.

Cancel at Least 24 Hours Before Renewal

CleanX’s App Store listing says auto-renewal must be turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.4Apple. CleanX – Clean Storage Space That is a standard Apple rule, and it applies to free trials too. If you started a trial and don’t want to pay, cancel at least a full day before it ends.1Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple

Google Play works the same way: once a charge processes, that specific payment stands, though you can stop future ones. The safest move on either platform is to cancel the day you decide you’re done. Access continues through the paid period regardless, so there’s no benefit to waiting.

Confirm the Cancellation

Go back into your subscription settings on the same device and check that CleanX shows a cancellation or expiration date, not a next renewal date. On Apple, a canceled subscription displays the expiration date in red. On Google Play, the subscription page confirms the cancellation and shows when access ends.

Then watch your bank or credit card statement past the date the next charge would have hit. A screenshot of the confirmation screen is worth keeping. If you ever need to dispute a charge, it removes any question about when you canceled.

If You Were Charged Anyway

Canceling stops future charges. It does not refund past ones automatically.

For an Apple charge, go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, choose the CleanX charge, and select Request a refund. Pick a reason and submit. Apple says to allow 24 to 48 hours for a response.5Apple Support. Request a Refund for Apps or Content That You Bought From Apple Approval is not guaranteed, but charges that hit after a failed cancellation or during a misunderstood trial are the strongest cases. For Google Play, open the app, find the CleanX charge in your purchase history, and request a refund through the on-screen options. Google usually decides within a few business days.

If charges keep appearing after you canceled, your bank is a fallback. Under the Electronic Fund Transfer Act, you can stop a preauthorized recurring charge by telling your bank or credit union at least three business days before the next scheduled payment.6Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 15 USC 1693e – Preauthorized Transfers You can do it by phone or in writing, though the bank may ask you to follow up a phone request in writing within 14 days. Once the stop-payment order is in, the bank has to block further debits from that merchant and keep blocking them if the merchant tries again.7Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Comment for 1005.10 Preauthorized Transfers This stops the money at the bank level but doesn’t close your account with CleanX, so cancel through the app store as well.
