How to Cancel Your Boldin Subscription and Get a Refund

To cancel a Boldin (formerly NewRetirement) PlannerPlus subscription, email customer_service@boldin.com if you signed up through the website, or use your device’s subscription settings if you signed up through Apple or Google Play. The correct method depends on where you originally bought the plan. PlannerPlus costs $144 per year, and Boldin does not issue prorated refunds once the free trial ends.

Check Where You Subscribed First

Before you do anything else, find out who bills you. This one detail decides the whole process. Look at your original purchase confirmation email, or check your card statement. Charges from Apple appear as “APPLE.COM/BILL.” Google charges usually show up as “GOOGLE*” followed by the app name. If the charge came straight from Boldin, you’ll cancel through their support team.

Boldin cannot cancel a subscription that Apple or Google manages, and neither platform can cancel one billed directly by Boldin. Using the wrong path is the most common reason a cancellation appears not to have worked.

Canceling a Website Subscription

If you subscribed on Boldin’s website, send an email to customer_service@boldin.com. Include the email address tied to your Boldin account so support can find it. Requests are processed within 48 business hours. There is no self-service cancel button in the website dashboard, so email is the only route for direct subscribers.

Your subscription will not renew for another billing cycle once the request is processed, and you keep PlannerPlus access through the end of the period you already paid for.

Canceling Through Apple

If you subscribed on an iPhone or iPad, Apple controls the billing:

  • Open the Settings app.
  • Tap your name at the top of the screen.
  • Tap Subscriptions and find Boldin in the list.
  • Tap Cancel Subscription. You may need to scroll down to see it. If you see an expiration message in red text instead, the subscription is already canceled.

Apple sends a confirmation, and the subscription stays active through the end of the billing period.

Canceling Through Google Play

Android users who subscribed through Google Play have to cancel in the Play Store app, not inside the Boldin app. Open Play Store, tap your profile icon, and open the subscriptions menu. Find Boldin, tap it, and tap the cancel button before your next renewal date. Google will confirm the cancellation and show the date your access ends.

Canceling During the Free Trial

PlannerPlus starts with a 14-day free trial that includes full access to paid features. Cancel within those 14 days and you will not be charged. Because Boldin takes up to 48 business hours to process email cancellations, don’t wait until the last day of the trial to send your request.

Refunds

Once the trial converts to a paid subscription, Boldin does not offer refunds. There are no prorated refunds for unused months, and subscriptions that did not include a free trial are not eligible for refunds either. The free trial window is the only reliable point to walk away without paying.

Apple and Google set their own refund policies. Apple sometimes grants refunds for recent charges through reportaproblem.apple.com, and Google Play has a similar process, but neither guarantees approval.

What Happens After You Cancel

You keep PlannerPlus features until the end of the current billing period. After that date, your account drops to Boldin’s free Basic tier automatically and you won’t be charged again. Basic still lets you build a personalized financial plan and run simple projections, but you lose Monte Carlo analysis, tax projections, account syncing, and detailed scenario comparisons. Your saved data generally stays in the system, so if you resubscribe later you won’t start from scratch.

Keep the cancellation confirmation email. If a charge appears after you’ve canceled, that confirmation is your evidence when disputing it with your bank or the billing platform.

Deleting Your Financial Data

Canceling does not remove your financial information from Boldin’s servers. To erase it, open Account Settings in the top right corner of the planner, go to the Profile section, and select Reset Plan. Confirm when prompted.

Resetting permanently deletes your profile, all account and income inputs, expense assumptions, your baseline plan, and any alternate scenarios. The deletion cannot be undone, and there is no way to recover a plan after a reset. You’ll be returned to the onboarding screen as if you had never used the tool, so only do this if you’re sure you won’t come back.
