To cancel your Albert subscription, zero out your account balances and then deactivate through the Albert app, at albert.com/deactivate in a web browser, or by contacting Albert support. If you originally signed up through the Apple App Store or Google Play, you also have to cancel in that store or the charges keep coming. Albert does not refund monthly payments, so cancel before your next billing date.1Albert. Can I Get a Refund for Albert Genius The Standard plan currently runs $19.99 per month and Genius runs $39.99, though some longtime users are still on older tiers between $8 and $16.2Albert. Clear These Balances First
Albert won’t process a deactivation until certain balances are at zero. Handle these before you start, or you’ll stall partway through.
- Repay any outstanding Instant cash advance. Unpaid advances can trigger late fees and suspension from future advances.3Albert. How Does Instant Advance Repayment Work
- Withdraw your Albert Savings balance to a linked external bank or to your Albert Cash account.
- Sell any investments and withdraw the proceeds so your investing balance is zero.4Albert. Deactivating or Closing Your Albert Account
- If you plan to close the account entirely, transfer your Albert Cash balance to an external bank. If you only want to stop the subscription, Cash can stay.
Deactivating vs. Closing Your Account
These are two different actions, and most people want the first one. Deactivating cancels the paid subscription but keeps your Albert Cash banking account open, so your debit card and direct deposits still work. Closing shuts everything down permanently. If your goal is just to stop the monthly fee, choose deactivation.4Albert. Deactivating or Closing Your Albert Account

Cancel Through Apple or Google If You Subscribed That Way
This trips people up. When you originally subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, that store handles billing, and canceling inside Albert alone won’t stop the charges. Uninstalling the app doesn’t stop them either.
On iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, find Albert, and tap Cancel Subscription. If there’s no cancel button and you see a red expiration message, it’s already canceled.5Apple. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple
On Android, open the Google Play Store, tap your profile photo, then Payments and Subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Tap Albert, then Cancel Subscription, and follow the prompts.
If Self-Service Doesn’t Work, Contact Support
Albert’s virtual assistant at albert.com/help/chat/new can hand you off to a live agent by text or email. You can also call (844) 891-9309 or email support@albert.com.6Albert. How to Contact Albert Say clearly that you want to deactivate your account and cancel the subscription, and have your account email ready. Follow up if you don’t hear back within a few business days.
Watch the Timing: No Refunds
Albert doesn’t refund monthly subscription payments, and pausing features like automatic savings does not pause billing.1Albert. Can I Get a Refund for Albert Genius Cancel a day after your billing date and you’ve paid for another full month with no way to claw it back. Check when your last charge posted and act before that date rolls around again.
Confirm the Cancellation Stuck
Reopen the app and check your account settings. The subscription should show as inactive or drop to a basic tier. If it still shows active, the cancellation may not have gone through.
The stronger confirmation is your bank statement during the next billing cycle: no new Albert charge means it worked. If you canceled through Apple or Google, check the subscriptions screen in your device settings for a cancellation or expiration date. Screenshot the confirmation screen so you have a record if a charge slips through and you need to dispute it with your bank.
