You can cancel a Yelp for Business subscription in one of two ways: if you’re on a month-to-month plan, do it yourself from the billing dashboard at biz.yelp.com/billing in about five minutes; if you signed a purchase order with a commitment period, you’ll have to call Customer Success at (855) 380-9357 or email customersuccess@yelp.com, and you may owe an early termination fee. Which path applies to you, and what it costs, depends entirely on whether your account has a contract term attached.
Cancel a Month-to-Month Plan From the Dashboard
If you’re on a non-term plan, you don’t need to talk to anyone. The steps are the same on desktop and in the Yelp for Business app.
On desktop, log into biz.yelp.com/billing. Under “Your Products,” click “Manage,” then click the “Pause or Cancel” icon next to each paid product and follow the prompts. In the mobile app, tap “More,” then “Billing,” then “Manage” under “Your Products,” and use the same “Pause or Cancel” icon.

Cancel a Contract Account by Phone or Email
Signed a purchase order with a commitment period? The self-service flow won’t work for you. Contact Customer Success directly:

For purchase orders that don’t specify their own termination procedure, Yelp requires 30 days’ written notice, and cancellation takes effect at the end of that window rather than the day you send the email.2Yelp for Business. Early Termination Fees
This is where most owners get caught off guard. If your purchase order has a commitment period and specifies an early termination fee, canceling before the term ends triggers it. Yelp’s terms require the fee to be paid within 30 days of the effective termination date. The company frames the fee as a reasonable estimate of the damages caused by early exit, accounting for the discounted pricing tied to the commitment plus Yelp’s setup and sales costs.2Yelp for Business. The dollar amount isn’t published anywhere. It’s written into each individual purchase order. Before you cancel, dig up your original agreement and look for early termination language. If you can’t find it, ask Customer Success to confirm in writing whether a fee applies and how much it would be before you authorize anything.

Consider Pausing Instead
Yelp lets you pause a campaign instead of canceling it, and for a lot of businesses that’s the better call. A pause stops your ads immediately but keeps your targeting, budget, and settings saved. Restart later with one click. Canceling deletes the setup, so if you come back you rebuild from scratch.
There’s no published maximum pause duration. Seasonal businesses and anyone testing whether Yelp actually drives revenue can pause indefinitely. If you’re unsure, pause first and cancel later if you never come back.
Billing After Cancellation
Yelp generally doesn’t prorate refunds for the portion of a billing cycle you’ve already paid. The Master Advertising Terms do say Yelp will reimburse prepaid fees for ad programs that would have run after the effective termination date. Yelp sends a confirmation email once the cancellation processes. Save it. That email is your proof of the termination date if a billing dispute comes up later.
Watch the Auto-Renewal
If your purchase order includes an auto-renewal clause, the contract rolls into a month-to-month arrangement once the initial commitment ends and keeps renewing every month until you actively cancel. Forgetting about an auto-renewing Yelp contract is one of the most common ways businesses keep paying long after they’ve stopped caring about the platform. Remove Your Payment Method
Once cancellation is confirmed, delete your card so nothing can be charged going forward. You can only do this from a desktop browser. Do this after cancellation is fully processed, not before. Removing a card while a product is still active can register as a failed payment rather than a cancellation.
What Happens to Your Business Page
Your listing doesn’t disappear. It reverts to a free page. Reviews, star rating, hours, address, and phone number stay. What you lose: competitor ads return to the center of your page, the call-to-action button disappears, you no longer control the photo slideshow order, business highlights and your logo come off, and Yelp Connect posts stop reaching followers. Customers can still find you and read your reviews. You just lose the paid marketing features and the ad-blocking that comes with them.
If Yelp Keeps Charging After You Cancel

If that fails, you can dispute the charge with your bank or card issuer. A chargeback may prompt Yelp to suspend your business account, which affects even the free listing, so exhaust Yelp’s own support first. Keep screenshots of your billing dashboard showing no active products, along with the confirmation email.
