Save the sent message and any reply. If nothing comes back within a few business days, send a follow-up and keep that copy as well. A documented trail of unanswered cancellation requests will help if you later dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer.

Cancel Through the App Store or Google Play

If you subscribed through Apple or Google, canceling on the Vitadrive website will not stop the charges. Those platforms handle billing on their own, and the cancellation has to happen inside the platform.

If You Are Charged After Canceling

Start with Vitadrive support. Send your cancellation confirmation and ask for the charge to be reversed. Most disputes at this stage come down to timing, where the cancellation processed just after the billing cycle triggered.

If the company will not resolve it, you have two federal escalation paths. For debit card or bank account charges, the Electronic Fund Transfer Act lets you stop a preauthorized payment by contacting your financial institution at least three business days before the next scheduled transfer.6Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 15 U.S. Code 1693e – Preauthorized Transfers Your bank may charge a stop-payment fee, typically $15 to $35, and may ask you to confirm the request in writing within 14 days.

For credit card charges, the Fair Credit Billing Act gives you 60 days from the date the statement was sent to dispute a billing error in writing with your card issuer.7Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 15 U.S. Code 1666 – Correction of Billing Errors Your dispute notice should identify the account, explain why the charge is an error, and attach documentation of the cancellation. The issuer must acknowledge the dispute within 30 days and resolve it within two billing cycles.

If neither the company nor your bank fixes the problem, file a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau at consumerfinance.gov/complaint. Companies generally respond within 15 days of a CFPB complaint.8Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Federal Rules That Apply

The Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act (ROSCA) makes it illegal for any online seller using a negative option feature, including recurring subscriptions, to charge you unless the seller clearly discloses all material terms before collecting billing information, obtains your express informed consent, and provides simple mechanisms to stop recurring charges.9Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 15 U.S. Code 8403 – Negative Option Marketing on the Internet Burying cancellation behind unnecessary steps is a potential ROSCA violation the FTC can enforce.

You may have seen references to the FTC’s “click-to-cancel” rule, which was designed to require that canceling be as easy as signing up. The Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals vacated that rule in July 2025 on procedural grounds, so it is not currently in effect. As of 2026, the FTC has started a new rulemaking process to revive a version of it. In the meantime, ROSCA’s simple-mechanism requirement and the FTC’s general authority under Section 5 of the FTC Act are the federal backstop. Many states also have their own automatic renewal laws, and your state attorney general’s office may be another resource if a company refuses to let you cancel.
