Cancel by Email, Phone, or Contact Form
If you can’t log in or would rather have support handle it, three channels work:
- Email support@vinclarity.com. Include the name and email address on your account so the team can find your profile. VIN Clarity lists an average email response time of about five hours.2VIN Clarity. Contact
- Call 1-844-669-2949. Phone support is advertised as 24/7.2VIN Clarity. Contact
- Submit a message at vinclarity.com/contact. This doesn’t require a login, which helps if you’ve lost password access.1VIN Clarity. How Do I Cancel
Keep the message simple: say you want to cancel effective immediately and give the email address tied to the account. Putting it in writing creates a record if a charge later appears that shouldn’t.
What Happens After You Cancel
VIN Clarity emails a confirmation receipt once the cancellation processes. Save it. Your membership stays active until the end of the current billing cycle, so reports you’ve already paid for remain available. After that date the account stops renewing and no further charges should appear.1VIN Clarity. How Do I Cancel
Check your statement after the date your next charge would have posted. No charge means it worked.
Asking for a Refund
Refund requests are handled case by case. VIN Clarity says it will issue a full refund if you signed up by accident or were charged without realizing it.3VIN Clarity. Can I Get a Refund Requests that come in soon after the charge, from accounts with little usage, tend to be approved.
The company also reserves the right to deny refunds when the service has been used heavily. Their stated example is someone who pulled 100 reports and then asks for their money back.3VIN Clarity. Can I Get a Refund To ask, email support@vinclarity.com or send a message through the contact form, and do it as soon as you spot the charge.
If Charges Keep Coming After Cancellation
When a company won’t resolve a post-cancellation charge, federal law gives you a path depending on how you paid.
Credit Card
Under the Fair Credit Billing Act, you have 60 days from the date of the billing statement to dispute the charge in writing with your card issuer. The letter needs to identify your account, state the amount, and explain why the charge is wrong. Send it to the billing inquiries address the issuer designates, not the general payment address.4Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 15 USC 1666 – Correction of Billing Errors Most issuers also accept disputes online or by phone, but the 60-day clock runs either way.
Debit Card or Direct Bank Debit
If VIN Clarity pulls money straight from your bank account, federal rules let you stop future preauthorized transfers by notifying your bank at least three business days before the next scheduled payment. Call the bank, then follow up in writing. The bank can require written confirmation within 14 days, and without it the oral stop-payment order expires.5eCFR. 12 CFR 205.10 – Preauthorized Transfers
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau recommends doing two things in parallel: revoke authorization directly with VIN Clarity, and separately tell your bank to block future debits from that company.6Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Keep Proof of the Cancellation
Disputes come down to records. Screenshot the cancellation page if the site shows one. Save the confirmation email. If you canceled by phone, write down the date, time, and the agent’s name. If you emailed, keep the sent message and any reply. Two minutes of filing now can settle a bank dispute months later.
