How to Cancel Verizon International Plan or TravelPass

To cancel a Verizon international plan, the urgency depends on which one you have. The $100 Monthly International Plan auto-renews each billing cycle, so remove it through My Verizon as soon as your trip ends to avoid a fresh charge. TravelPass works differently: it bills only on days you actually use your phone abroad, so Verizon says there is no need to remove it once you’re back in the U.S.1Verizon. Verizon TravelPass FAQs

Do You Actually Need to Cancel TravelPass?

Probably not. TravelPass has no recurring monthly fee. A 24-hour session starts the moment you use your phone in a TravelPass country, and you pay the daily rate ($12 in most countries, $6 in Mexico and Canada) only for that session. Sit at home and nothing accumulates. Verizon’s own FAQ says plainly: “There’s no need to remove TravelPass from your line as you’re only charged on days you use your device in a TravelPass country.”1Verizon. Verizon TravelPass FAQs

You might still want it off. If you worry about accidental roaming during a layover or a future border crossing, removing TravelPass keeps your phone from triggering a session without your knowledge. And if your account looks cleaner without unused features, the removal takes about two minutes.

The $100 Monthly International Plan is the one that matters. Left active, it renews each billing cycle and charges you $100 for service you’re not using.2Verizon. International Phone Plans and Travel Services

Who Can Make the Change

Only the Account Owner or an Account Manager can modify international features.3Verizon. Account Roles and Assigning a Mobile Account Manager FAQs For online cancellation you’ll need your My Verizon login. If you’re calling, have your account PIN ready. Only the Account Owner can reset a forgotten PIN, through the Security page in My Verizon or at a Verizon store with a valid photo ID.4Verizon. Verizon Mobile Account PIN FAQs

How to Remove TravelPass or the Monthly Plan Online

In the My Verizon App

Open the app and go to Account, then My Plan, then International details. From there:

  • Tap Remove plan.
  • Select the feature you want off (TravelPass or the Monthly International Plan), then tap Next.
  • Choose an effective date: Today or Next Bill.
  • Tap Confirm.

If you already triggered a TravelPass session earlier that day, the 24-hour session runs to completion no matter when you remove the feature, and the daily charge for that final session still applies.5Verizon. My Verizon App – Manage International Plan and View Usage

On the Verizon Website

Log in at My Verizon and go to Account, then My Plan, then International details. Select Remove plan, choose the line, pick your effective date, and click Confirm.6Verizon. Manage TravelPass Check the summary screen before confirming, especially on a multi-line plan, so you’re removing the feature from the correct line.

On a Prepaid Line

Prepaid accounts take a slightly different path. In My Verizon, go to Features, find TravelPass, select Disable TravelPass, and confirm. Disabling it on a prepaid line blocks international usage entirely.6Verizon. Manage TravelPass

A Note on the $100 Monthly Plan Specifically

The Monthly International Plan includes unlimited data (20 GB at high speed, then reduced to 3G speeds), unlimited texts, and 250 minutes for $100 per billing cycle, and can be set for a single month or on auto-renew.2Verizon. International Phone Plans and Travel Services If you selected auto-renew, remove it before your next billing cycle starts. If you remove it mid-cycle, watch your next statement for a prorated credit. Verizon’s support pages don’t spell out a blanket proration policy for this plan, so if you believe a credit is owed and it doesn’t show up, contact customer service directly.

Canceling by Phone

If you’d rather talk to someone, call 800-922-0204.7Verizon. Identify and Protect Against Hacks and Fraud The representative will verify your identity using your account PIN or a security code sent to your device. Tell them which international feature you want removed and from which line.

Before you hang up, ask for a confirmation number and request an email summary of the change. If a charge shows up on a future bill anyway, documented proof of the cancellation date gives you leverage when you dispute it through billing.

Turn Off Data Roaming as a Backup

Removing an international feature from your account is one layer. Turning off data roaming on the device is another. Even without TravelPass or the Monthly Plan active, your phone can still connect to foreign networks and rack up pay-as-you-go charges if roaming is left on.

iPhone: Settings, then Cellular (or Mobile Data), then Cellular Data Options, and toggle Data Roaming off. On dual SIM or dual eSIM iPhones, tap the specific line first.

Samsung Galaxy: Settings, then Connections, then Mobile Networks, and toggle Data Roaming off.

Pixel and other stock Android: Settings, then Network & Internet, then Mobile Network, and toggle Data Roaming off.

If the Data Roaming toggle looks greyed out, turn on Cellular Data or Mobile Data first. The toggle activates only when the main data connection is enabled.

Don’t Cancel Too Early

If you remove the plan while still abroad, or travel to a country not covered by TravelPass, Verizon charges pay-as-you-go rates. Voice calls run roughly $1.79 to $2.99 per minute depending on the country, and data runs about $2.05 per megabyte.8Verizon. International Services and Pricing While Traveling Outside the US A single day of casual phone use at those rates can cost more than a full month of the $100 plan, and Verizon does not appear to offer a hard spending cap on pay-as-you-go international data. Time the cancellation for after you land back in the U.S.

When Your Plan Already Includes TravelPass

Some Verizon plans bundle TravelPass, which means you may not have a standalone feature to remove. The Unlimited Ultimate plan includes TravelPass as a built-in benefit. Unlimited Plus and Unlimited Welcome don’t include full TravelPass, but they offer three TravelPass days per line each month as a perk, available for $10 per month.9Verizon. 3 TravelPass Days Perk With Unlimited Mobile Plans FAQs If TravelPass comes with your plan, there is nothing to cancel and no separate charge. If you added the three-day perk and want to stop the $10 monthly charge, remove it through the same My Plan section where you manage other perks.
