How to Cancel Tinder: Subscription, Account, and Refunds

To cancel Tinder, go to whichever platform processes your payment — Apple, Google Play, or Tinder.com — because deleting the app doesn’t stop the charges. Your billing runs through whoever took your money at signup, and only that platform can end the subscription. Match your original payment method before you start, or you’ll click through the wrong steps and keep getting billed.

Cancel on iPhone or iPad

If you signed up through the App Store, Apple controls the billing and Tinder can’t cancel it for you.

  • Open the Settings app.
  • Tap your name at the top.
  • Tap Subscriptions.
  • Select your Tinder subscription (Plus, Gold, or Platinum).
  • Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.

Cancel at least 24 hours before your next renewal. Miss that window and Apple may process the charge before the cancellation takes effect. Your renewal date shows on the same Subscriptions screen.

Cancel on Android

Android subscriptions bought through Google Play cancel through Google, not inside the Tinder app.

  • Open the Google Play app.
  • Tap your profile icon in the top right.
  • Go to Payments & Subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  • Select your Tinder subscription.
  • Tap Cancel Subscription and follow the prompts.

Google recommends canceling well before the renewal date so the change processes in time.

Cancel Through Tinder.com or PayPal

If you subscribed on Tinder’s website with a credit card, debit card, or PayPal, you cancel on Tinder.com.

  • Go to tinder.com and log in.
  • Tap your profile icon.
  • Select Manage Payment Account.
  • Find the subscription.
  • Tap Cancel Subscription.

PayPal users who subscribed through the Tinder Android app take a slightly different route: open the Tinder app, tap your profile icon, choose Manage Payment Account, and cancel from there.

What Happens After You Cancel

Canceling stops future charges but does not end your access right away. Tinder Plus, Gold, or Platinum features stay active through the end of the billing period you last paid for. After that date, the account drops to the free version. You keep your matches and conversations, but unlimited likes, Passport, and profile boosts go away.

Check the subscription management screen or your confirmation email to confirm the exact expiration date. If an expiration date has replaced what used to show as your next billing date, the cancellation went through. Save that confirmation in case an unexpected charge shows up later.

Deleting Your Account Is Not the Same as Canceling

Deleting your Tinder profile does not cancel an active subscription. If you delete first, you lose access to the app but keep getting billed. Cancel the subscription, confirm the cancellation, then delete the account if you want it gone. Inside the app, the delete option lives under your profile icon and the Settings icon, at the bottom of the screen; Tinder will offer to pause the account instead, and you have to choose Delete My Account to go all the way through.

Refund Requests

Most Tinder purchases are nonrefundable, but you can request help with a purchase made in the last 14 days. Where you go depends on how you paid.

Paid on Tinder.com with a card or PayPal: contact Tinder directly from the email address tied to the purchase, and include your order number. Subscription order numbers start with “TNDR”; one-time purchases like boosts and super likes start with “COSU.”

Paid through the App Store: Tinder can’t issue the refund. Request one from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, where Apple reviews requests case by case. Google Play purchases work the same way — go through Google’s refund process rather than Tinder.
