You can cancel a Surf Thru Express membership three ways: through the online membership portal, by calling 559-392-5708, or by stopping in at any Surf Thru location. Surf Thru’s policy allows cancellation at any time with no termination fee, provided you notify the company before your card is charged for the next billing cycle.1Surf Thru Express. The Three Ways to Cancel
Online
The fastest route for most members is the management page at surfthruexpress.com/membership-online/. Go there, enter your account details, and submit the cancellation request.2Surf Thru Express. Manage Membership – Surf Thru Express Screenshot the confirmation. That timestamp is your proof if a charge shows up later.
By Phone
Call the membership line at 559-392-5708.3Surf Thru Express. Contact Us Write down the representative’s name, the date of the call, and any confirmation number you’re given. Hours vary by state and season, so if you can’t get through during one call window, try again the next day.
In Person
Any Surf Thru Express location can cancel your membership at the counter. The attendant will pull up your account in the point-of-sale system and mark it for non-renewal. Ask for a printed receipt before you leave.1Surf Thru Express. Memberships – Surf Thru Express This method works well if you also want to ask about your final billing date face to face.
Information to Have Ready
Whichever method you use, pull these together first:
- The full name and email address you signed up with.
- Your license plate number, which Surf Thru uses to identify your membership.
- The RFID tag number printed on the sticker placed on your windshield at enrollment. The wash equipment reads this tag to open the gate, and it links your vehicle to your billing profile.
If you can’t find the RFID sticker or don’t remember which email you used at signup, call the membership line. A representative can locate the account from whatever information you have.
When to Cancel to Avoid Another Charge
Surf Thru’s rule is simple: notify them before your card is charged for the next month.1Surf Thru Express. Memberships – Surf Thru Express The company doesn’t publish a specific number of days of notice, so leave yourself a few days of buffer rather than trying to cancel the day before your renewal date.
If the next charge posts before your cancellation reaches them, you’ll pay for another month. Surf Thru does not issue partial-month refunds. Your membership does stay active through the rest of that paid period, so the RFID tag will keep opening the gate until it expires, and the recurring charge stops after that.1Surf Thru Express. If Charges Keep Coming After You Cancel
Most cancellations go through cleanly. If another charge appears anyway, you have rights that don’t depend on Surf Thru’s cooperation.
For debit card or bank account (ACH) billing, federal law lets you stop future preauthorized transfers by telling your bank or credit union at least three business days before the next scheduled payment. You can do this orally or in writing, though your bank may ask for written confirmation within 14 days of an oral request.4eCFR. 12 CFR 1005.10 – Preauthorized Transfers This is separate from canceling with the merchant; you’re instructing your bank to block the payment.
For a credit card, call the number on the back and ask that future recurring charges from Surf Thru be blocked. If an unauthorized charge has already posted, dispute it as a billing error. Keep your cancellation proof, whether that’s a screenshot, an email, or a receipt from the location.
The Federal Trade Commission’s Click-to-Cancel rule requires subscription sellers to make cancellation at least as easy as signup, to provide a simple cancellation mechanism, and to stop charges promptly once a consumer cancels.5Federal Trade Commission. Downgrade Instead if Cost Is the Only Issue
If you’re canceling only because the monthly cost feels high, a cheaper tier may be worth a look before you drop the membership entirely. Surf Thru offers multiple plan levels, and pricing varies by state. Washington locations, for example, list a Graphene plan at $38.99 per month, Ceramic at $31.99, and a basic Good Wash plan at $24.99.6Surf Thru Express.
