To cancel your SuperGrok free trial before the $30 charge hits, cancel through the same platform where you signed up: the grok.com billing page, the Apple App Store subscriptions screen, or Google Play. You need to do this before the trial’s expiration date, and deleting the Grok app from your phone does not count as canceling.
Find Out Where You Subscribed First
SuperGrok subscriptions can be purchased through grok.com, the Apple App Store, or Google Play, and each platform handles its own billing independently.1xAI Docs. FAQ – Grok Website / Apps If you try to cancel on grok.com but you actually subscribed through Apple, nothing happens and the charge still goes through.
Search your email for the original purchase confirmation. If it came from Apple or Google, cancel through that platform. If it came from xAI or mentions Stripe, cancel on grok.com.
Deleting the App Does Not Cancel the Trial
Removing Grok from your phone does nothing to stop the billing agreement. Both iOS and Android show a warning when you delete an app with an active subscription, but the warning is easy to dismiss without reading. The subscription keeps running, and you get charged when the trial ends regardless of whether the app is still installed. Cancel through the account settings first, then delete the app if you want to.
Canceling on Grok.com
If you subscribed directly through the website, log into the same account you used for the trial and go to Settings → Billing.1xAI Docs. FAQ – Grok Website / Apps From the billing page you can see when your trial expires and cancel the subscription. The site may hand you off to a Stripe-hosted billing portal to confirm.
SuperGrok accepts credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal. If you paid with PayPal, there’s an extra backup step worth doing, covered below.
Canceling on the Apple App Store
If you started the trial on an iPhone or iPad, Apple controls the billing. Open the Settings app, tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions.2Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple Find the Grok or SuperGrok entry, tap it, then tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
If there’s no cancel button and you only see renewal options, the subscription was already canceled and will expire at the end of the current period. Apple doesn’t always make that obvious, so check the expiration date on the subscription details screen.
Canceling on Google Play
For Android, open Settings, tap Google, tap your name, then Manage your Google Account. Go to Payments & subscriptions → Manage subscriptions.3Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play Tap the Grok entry and select Cancel subscription. Google may ask for a cancellation reason before it processes the request.
Revoke the PayPal Billing Agreement as a Backup
If you used PayPal on grok.com, the cancellation on the billing page should stop future charges. For an extra layer of certainty, revoke the automatic payment authorization inside PayPal. On the website, go to Settings → Payments → Automatic Payments, find the merchant, and cancel it. In the app, tap the menu icon, go to Subscriptions, find the merchant, and tap Stop Paying with PayPal.4PayPal. What Is an Automatic Payment and How Do I Update or Cancel One
Confirm the Cancellation Went Through
Canceling doesn’t usually cut off access right away. Most services let you keep premium features until the original trial end date, and SuperGrok works the same way. After that date, your account drops back to the free tier.
Check your email for a cancellation confirmation. If none arrives within a few hours, open your billing settings again and verify the subscription shows as canceled or displays a definitive end date. Watch your bank or credit card statement for a few days after the trial period ends to make sure no charge posted.
What To Do if You Were Already Charged
If the $30 already hit your statement, where you refund from depends on where you subscribed.
- Apple App Store: Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple reviews requests case by case and doesn’t publish a fixed submission deadline.5Apple Support. Request a Refund for Apps or Content That You Bought From Apple
- Google Play: Use the Google Play refund request page. For unauthorized charges, you have 120 days from the transaction date to report the issue.6Google Help. Learn About Google Play Refund Policies
- Grok.com: Contact xAI through the support channels linked in your account settings. If you paid through Stripe, the refund routes back through that processor.
If none of those routes work, dispute the charge with your bank or credit card company.
