How to Cancel Quantum Fiber and Return Your Equipment

To cancel Quantum Fiber, call the Fiber Success Team at 833-250-6306, open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. CST. There’s no self-service cancel button in the online portal, and no early termination fee because the service is prepaid and month-to-month.1Quantum Fiber. How to Cancel Your Service Two things decide whether the cancellation costs you money anyway: when in your billing cycle you call, and whether you return your WiFi pods within 30 days.

Time the Call to Your Billing Cycle

Quantum Fiber bills prepaid. Your monthly payment covers a full cycle, and no prorated refund is issued if you cancel partway through.2Quantum Fiber. Account FAQs – Section: Billing and Payments That makes timing the single biggest money decision in this process.

Check your billing date in the My Account portal under the billing section, then plan to call a day or two before your next cycle begins. Canceling right after a new charge posts means paying for a month you won’t use.

What to Have Ready Before You Call

Have the primary account holder’s full name, the service address, and the account number from the top of a billing statement. The representative will verify your identity, so know the last four digits of the payment method on file or any security PIN set up when the account was opened.1Quantum Fiber. On the Call

The agent will ask why you’re leaving and then set your disconnect date. Before hanging up, ask for a reference number or interaction ID and write it down. The account status should move to “pending disconnect” for the date you chose.

You should also get an automated confirmation email with a tracking number for the cancellation request. Keep it. If the email doesn’t arrive within a few hours, call back and confirm the request was actually logged. The reference number plus the email are what you’ll need if a charge later shows up in dispute.

Returning Your WiFi Pods

Once service is disconnected, you have 30 days to return any leased equipment or face non-return fees.3Quantum Fiber. How to Return Your Quantum Fiber Equipment For most customers that’s the 360 WiFi pods, and returns go through UPS exclusively.4Quantum Fiber. Equipment Returns

  • Go to the Quantum Fiber equipment returns page and select “Start My UPS Return.”
  • On the UPS site, continue as a guest and enter the same email, full name, and phone number that are on your Quantum Fiber account. Different contact info can cause the return to go unmatched, which means you could still be charged.
  • Choose the option to print and email your label. You’ll receive a PDF. No printer? Call your nearest UPS Store, forward the email to them, and they’ll print it when you arrive.
  • Attach the label, drop the box at any UPS Store or authorized UPS drop-off location, and get a receipt.

Returning more than four pods? Split them into two shipments and submit the UPS return form a second time to generate a second label.4Quantum Fiber. Equipment Returns

Hold onto the UPS drop-off receipt until the Quantum Fiber portal shows the equipment as returned and no charges have been applied. If UPS loses the package or processing lags, that receipt is what keeps a non-return fee off your account.

Leave the SmartNID on the Wall

The SmartNID, the white box where the fiber line enters your home, is a permanent fixture of the property. Don’t remove it and don’t try to return it. You won’t be charged for it, and it stays whether you’re canceling, moving, or switching providers.3Quantum Fiber. How to Return Your Quantum Fiber Equipment If you rent, your landlord doesn’t need it taken down at move-out either.

Your Final Bill

Expect no refund for the unused portion of your last paid month. The cancellation page is explicit that partial or prorated refunds aren’t available, with no exceptions listed for outages or billing issues.1Quantum Fiber. How to Cancel Your Service

Any remaining balance or equipment charges show up on a final statement after your disconnect date and are typically billed to the payment method on file. Review it. If a charge doesn’t look right, contact support right away rather than waiting. Once the balance hits zero and the equipment is logged as returned, the account status in the portal should flip from “active” to “closed.”

Consider Pausing Instead

If you’re a seasonal resident or traveling for a while, pausing may fit better than canceling. Quantum Fiber will put an account on hold for a minimum of one month and a maximum of nine, and service resumes without a new installation or equipment setup.5Quantum Fiber. How to Pause Your Quantum Fiber Service Monthly hold fees and eligibility aren’t published on the support page, so ask the representative for the exact cost and conditions when you call. This is especially worth weighing where fiber availability is limited, since canceling and re-subscribing later means going through full installation again.

If You’re Moving, Check the New Address First

Before canceling to relocate, check whether Quantum Fiber serves the new address at quantumfiber.com/shop.6Quantum Fiber. Check to See if Quantum Fiber Is Available at Your Address If it does, you may be able to transfer service instead of starting over. The move isn’t self-service; a support agent walks you through setup at the new address, and depending on your account type you may need to place a new order first and then cancel the existing service.7Quantum Fiber. How to Move Your Service Moving can also wipe out bundle discounts, promotional pricing, or Price for Life offers tied to the old address, so ask what pricing carries over before you commit. The SmartNID at the old address stays on the wall; the WiFi pods may still need to come back.
