How to Cancel or Delete Your Grow Therapy Account

To delete your Grow Therapy account, open the Help Widget inside your client portal and message the support team; there is no self-service delete button. Before you send the request, cancel any upcoming appointments and pay any outstanding balance, because support checks for both before processing the deletion.1Grow Therapy. The Steps Inside the Client Portal

The whole request happens in the chat widget, not in a settings menu and not by email:

  • Log in to your client portal on the Grow Therapy website.
  • Open the Help Widget in the bottom-right corner.
  • Select “Send us a message” to launch the support bot.
  • Type “Account Deletion” and send it.
  • Wait for a support team member to reply and confirm your account details.

That’s the entire process on your end. Support will verify that no appointments or payments are outstanding and then complete the deletion.1Grow Therapy. Clear Appointments Before You Ask to Delete

Support won’t process the deletion while appointments or unpaid balances are still on your account, so handle scheduled sessions first.1Grow Therapy. Delete Your Grow Therapy Account You can cancel an upcoming appointment from the client portal as long as you give at least 24 hours’ notice. If your session is less than 24 hours away, message your provider directly through the portal’s Messages section. Cancellations sent by personal text or email outside the platform may not be logged, so keep it in the portal.3Grow Therapy. No-Show and Late Cancellation Fees

Watch the timing. A cancellation made less than 24 hours before a session counts as a late cancellation, and your provider can charge up to $200 for a late cancellation or a no-show. Insurance does not cover the fee, so you pay it out of pocket. The specific amount your provider charges appears in the “Worry-free booking” section when you schedule, which is worth checking before you cancel.3Grow Therapy. No-Show and Late Cancellation Fees

If you only want to stop seeing your current provider and might use Grow Therapy again later, you don’t need to delete anything. Cancel the appointments and leave the account open.

Review Billing and Dispute Any Wrong Charges First

Once your account is gone, so is the easy path to dispute a charge. You have 30 days from the charge notification, the original payment, or your discovery of an error to request a correction. After that window closes, you lose the ability to dispute it.4Grow Therapy. Dispute a Charge and Request a Refund

To dispute a charge, message your provider through the portal with the fee description, date, amount, reason for the dispute, and any supporting evidence such as screenshots or receipts. Refunds for no-show and late cancellation fees are at the provider’s discretion, since providers on Grow Therapy run independent practices. If your provider doesn’t respond or declines, contact the support team through the Help Widget for further review.4Grow Therapy. Request Your Medical Records Before Deleting

Closing your account does not eliminate your right to your medical records. Under the HIPAA Privacy Rule, you can examine and obtain a copy of your health records from a covered provider.6U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The HIPAA Privacy Rule But since Grow Therapy providers run independent practices, your clinical records belong to your therapist’s practice, not the platform. It’s much easier to request session notes or treatment records while you still have portal access to message your therapist. After the account is deleted, you’ll need to reach the provider through contact information outside the platform.

If the account belongs to a child, pull those records first for the same reason. Once the account is gone, getting the records becomes a question of state law and clinical judgment rather than a portal setting.

What Deletion Actually Removes

Deletion does not erase every trace of your information immediately. Grow Therapy’s privacy policy states that personal information is kept as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including legal, regulatory, tax, and accounting obligations. When retention is no longer necessary, the company either deletes or de-identifies the data; where neither is immediately possible, such as data sitting in backup archives, it is isolated from further processing until deletion can happen. Grow Therapy also acknowledges it may not be able to delete your information in all circumstances.7Grow Therapy. Privacy Notice

Clinical notes sit in a separate category. The privacy policy distinguishes between data Grow Therapy collects directly and “Customer Data” collected on behalf of your therapist. Your therapist’s clinical notes are governed by the provider’s own Notice of Privacy Practices and by state record retention laws, which commonly require providers to keep clinical records for several years after treatment ends.7Grow Therapy.
